That is excellent news for a number of reasons
It will give people something to rave about here on mylot and every other forum for months and it will give me a chance for my hate and anger of phones to grow and totally join the dark side

Yea, I am a apple fan but the only thing I hate about them is the fact that....Well I can't really say I hate them because this is only what people had said to me, even in the forums. I haven't really known for myself. I was gonna say that the only reason I hated them a little bit was the fact that they are cheap. I lost my ipod touch 4 in April and everyone said that they do have gadgets/stuff to track it down but they refuse to use them so we can buy more of their gadgets. I am waiting to buy the ipod touch 5 though, I wonder if it is also coming that month as everyone said that they might come out as soon as the iphone does.

I have an iphone and am waiting until my present contact runs out before getting the next one. I do like the Apple products, but feel with Lite coming out, I would rather get an Iphone that takes advantage of that rather then one who is just uses the regular 4 network. Besides right now it would cost too much considering I am also saving for an Ipad and that might not happen to next year or the next or when I get the money.
I do love Apple products. and almost a fanatic.

Well thanks for that information that I already read. I'll make a note to miss that particular day.
No, I couldn't care less! Your question is right on the nose!
I'm not a fanatic and all I look forward to is peace and quiet but that isn't going to happen.
You do know that this launch will be completely overshadowed by the Michael Jackson doctor trial and no one will notice it?

I guess you are like me. I really do not care about the 'launch'. The only apple product I actually tried is the iPad and I wasn't super impressed by it because it is mid way between a phone and a laptop and there many things it couldn't do as a phone or as a laptop.
I saw briefly on BBC the live coverage of the doctors trial. I really do not understand why there has to be a live coverage of that. I guess there is nothing important going on in the world.

There's probably plenty important going on. They just would rather not tell us about it and focus our minds on celebrities and product launches instead.

I know Iphone 5 is coming out soon, and i might be getting it but not anytime soon. I will have to wait till feb 2012 when my mobile contract ends and price of the phone isn't that expensive anymore. I'm not one to jump into new gadgets the moment they are out. It's stupid and a waste of money. Time also allows me to think properly if i really know iphone5 or i can settle for any other smartphones instead.

I can tell you this. I am a big Apple fan, but I will in no way shape or form be standing on a line waiting to get my hands on one. I do plan on getting it, but I always let a few months pass before I buy. That way all they crazies are out of they way and I can get one with ease. I have always followed Apple products closely. I also have owned iPhones since they first came out and I probably always will. But, to be a fanatic that has to be the first one to get it is totally out of control in my book.

I think waiting for a few month to acquire one is a good idea. You would get feedback from people who have bought it early and if there are any problems with it you would definitely hear about it. But apple products are expensive even though there are now alternatives to all there gadgets.

I understand what you're saying. Yes I will hear lots of reviews. But I will not consider any other product. I will get the iPhone 5 in my time and I will make my own review. I know they are expensive, but I know first hand that they are worth every penny. They are great machines.

well, it was nice rumour..I am not really sure about this since they just released Iphone 4S then they do not want to sacrifice Iphone 4S by releasing Iphone 5 in near future..I think they will delay to release Iphone 5 because the Iphone 4S market and distribution not mature or stable yet..So just wait for another months..However, it also can happened if they willing to use momentum of steve jobs news..

Many friends and collegues around me are crazy about iphone seires. I knew a guy who first buy iphone 3G in Hongkong, then ipone 4 was released, he bought iphone 4, and now he is excited about the iphone 5 and talking about it almost everyday. I am not an apple fanatic, so couldn't understand why.

Yes.. Even I know some people who are crazy about apple's iphone. And they are waiting for iphone 5 very eagerly.
Honestly even I am eager to see new iphone 5. But I am not that crazy about apple like my few friends. I have interest in knowing about new technology and that's the reason I am eager about it.

To me, it's just another gadget. The smartphone craze has come and gone. It has its place in the cellphone world and a mere upgrade isn't a lot to get excited about. I think there is more to life than Apple and I see no reason to devote my life or money to it. I purchase gadgets for their usefulness, not the cool factor. I don't upgrade until the current gadget I have wears out. It it still works I don't see the reason to spend a few hundred on the same exact gadget with just a few tweaks here and there.
For the techies, congrats. For me, October 4th will come and pass like any other day. :)

Excitement over an extension cord? Now that goes beyond my scope of understanding for the apple geeks. I do agree that they are a different species altogether...you have to wonder what went wrong in their personal lives that would make them get so excited about a cord. :)

Yes that's the big problem with Iphone that they are very costly. I have heard in news that iphones will going to be cheaper(don't know much as i haven't seen the detail).. So hope the prices come down. They are launching too much costly devices.

I still have an iPhone 3!! I'm sure by the time I actually get a 5 they'll be out with the 7!! haha When it comes to computers, phones, etc. I never buy the latest model, because I don't want to spend all the money. I can see the small ways that the 4 is different from the 3 based on the people I know who have one, and I wonder how the 5 will be different.
I don't even have an iPad! LOL If I get a tablet, it'll probably be a blackberry one.

They are always coming out with new models just when you got the previous one. The difference between iPad 1 and 2 is the camera and the fact that it is flatter at the back. But there are so many tablets these days from so many companies including recently fro amazon kindle.

It seems that many people are already very crazy to Apple products. They are eager to have iPhone 5. In my opinion, I think iPhone is very expensive and I don't understand why so many people want to buy it. As the price is not reasonable. Perhaps it just gives you a symbol that you are rich. I am not a fan of it. If I will buy a new cellphone, it is likely I will choose Android cellphone.
I love China

I don't think that it will come out on this date. That is just when the press conference is, and I would assume that the release date would be a couple of weeks after that. I really want to get it when it comes out, however I still have several months left on my current contract which means that I would have to buy myself out of it if I wanted a new phone already. I am very tempted to do this, but I should try to wait as long as I possibly can so that it is not as expensive for me to be able to change my contact this early.

I am not an Apple fanatic, but I heard so much good word about iPhone, iPad, and iPod. The funny thing is, most of my friends have Apple products, and I got none of them. I wish that I will have enough money to get one for myself, so I can experience the Apple fanatic mentality.
