What is the greatest tourist attraction near to where you live? Please tell me about it and why people come to see it. Are there activities there or do they just look at the landscape or buildings? Please give detail on the tourist attraction as I'm interested in many places and cannot go. The greatest tourist attraction that is near to where I live is Yosemite National Park. It is about 45 minutes from here and the grandeur of the mountains and nature is what brings tourists from all over the world. There is opportunity to fish and horse-back ride there. There are hotels and restaurants. Just outside the gate to Yosemite is Sugar Pine Railroad which is an antique train that will take you on a ride through the Sierra Pines. Cowboys on horses will chase the train and act as bandits for a fun melodrama. Then the train will stop at a campsite area and they will have a bonfire and sing songs, then back to the train station for tri-tip steak dinner with beans and baked potato. That is just some of the things to do while at and near Yosemite National Park.

I live minutes from Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, which is very popular. I noticed that when people come to TN that is where they want to go. There are tons and tons of things to do there. Home of Dollywood and Splash country, which is one of the most popular. All the Ripleys museums (aquarium, believe it or not, haunted house) Car shows are also very popular in Sevierville. Among other things to do... go carts, ziplines, bungee jumping, amusement parks, restaraunts, pool halls, cabin rentals in the mountains, white water rafting, comedy shows, lots of shopping including the flea market, and much much more. I could go on and on about the things you can do there but that would take forever to list everything. Nice mountain views too. Really beautiful.

I live in the Poconos which is supposed to be a tourist destination in its own right due to skiing, canoeing, golf, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities, plus now we even have casinos. Probably New York City or Philadelphia have more attractions to see, if you like cities. From my own travels though, almost anyplace in the western US has better tourist scenic attractions.

I live in Paranaque. It is situated at the south of Metro Manila, Philippines. For me, I consider Taal volcano and/or Tagaytay to be the greatest tourist attraction near I live. It is not that near but the nearest I would say... Taal Volcano is said to be one of the smallest if not the smallest volcano in the world. It is located in the middle of the lake situated in a caldera. And from the ridge of that caldera is a town called Tagaytay. From there you can see Taal volcano and its lake at its best. Taal lake is named as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world according to one international travel website...

I live close to Bath which is a spa town in Somerset. It has beautiful sandstone buildings and many lovely museums. I also live near to Glastonbury which has a special hill called the Tor. I like the gardens with the iron rich water. The old abbey is very beautiful. It has many crystals. These two places are one hours drive from where I live. Just ten minutes drive from where I live is a seaside town called Weston-super-Mare. It has an amazing looking pier, a big wheel and a sandy beach. The sea water has a rip tide and is therefore dangerous. There is sinking mud too with warning triangles up. London the capital city and that is a big tourist destination for people from all over the world. It is around five hours away by intercity train. It has Big Ben, the houses of Parliament, the River Thames and Tower Bridge. People like the history and the landscapes plus the interesting buildings. English is a popular language and it is spoken here.

I live in whats called a "tri-state" area. Between Delaware, Pennsylvania, & New Jersey there area plenty of tourist attractions for one to visit when coming my way. We are a small town known for it richness in preserving history. Our first school house is still sitting for display on our beautiful nature trail that leads to the local park & zoo. We are very close to Philadelphia PA, which as most know is vital to the history of the US because our forfathers laid out the plan for much of what we see today in Philadelphia. The Independence Visitor Center (IVC) is the perfect place to begin your visit to the Philadelphia region. The Visitor Center is just a stone’s throw from some of Philadelphia’s most popular attractions, including the new Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center. Not to mention to many art gallories and museums available to visitors. If you don't mind a bit of a ride my town is also close enough to make a day trip to our nations (USA) capital in Washington DC. There are also a slew of museums and history there to visit. We have Six Flags Great Adventure about an hour away, which is one of the US's biggest theme parks and boasts of having the fastest and tallest rollar coasters. Trenton, which is the capital of New Jersey is also located about an hour away- great tourist attractions there too! Great subject, thanks! ;)

I live in a town that is famous for making glass, and there is a museum related to this and I think that it is the best tourist attraction near my place of home. I live relatively near to another city as well which has its own attractions, and there are lots of those to choose from. Not all that many tourists come to my town, which means that the majority of people who choose to use the attractions are actually already from my home town or from the surrounding area. I wouldn't like to live in a place where there were lots of tourists, I don't think.

I live near Columbia, Missouri. One fun place to visit here is Lake of the Ozarks which is in Osage Beach, Missouri. It is only about one hour away from me. I have been there many times and there is so much to do there! The lake is beautiful! There are tons of places to do shopping, many restaurants, and good tourist attractions! A good website to check out the lake would be http://www.funlake.com/index2.php. You should check it out! Another good place to go visit is Branson, MO. There are many attractions here as well. Many shows that you can see, many restaurants, and again plenty of places to eat! Check out http://www.branson.com/ for information!

Th Lancaster Canal - Boating on the Lancaster Canal
Is is right at my back gate and it is the beautiful Lancaster Canal. I only have to walk out of my back gate and I am on the tow path of this lovely canal that is very popular with ramblers, cyclists and people on narrow boats. From my gate we can walk along the canal for about ten minutes to take us into the village of Glasson which is also popular with visitors and has a small selection of shops and places to eat and there are excellent walks in the surrounding countryside and along the coast of Morecambe Bay.

hello, I live in Las Pinas City, Philippines, it is home to the famous and world renowned Spanish era "Bamboo Organ" in the Parish of Saint Joseph. It is also where Zapote bridge is located, where Gen.Emilio Aguinaldo (later first Philippine president) defeated the Spanish Governor General Camilo de Polavieja which paved the way to the liberation of Cavite Province and later the whole Philippines. It was also the site of the "battle of Zapote river" during the Philippine- American warof 1899

I live in Austin Texas, so... we've got the LBJ Library, the state Capital, the O Henry Museum, the French Legation, and the 6th street music scene. We have the bats under the Ann Richard's bridge, we have Barton Springs pool, and Lady Bird Johnson Lake and Lake Austin inside town, and those are just the first (or last) two of the "highland" lakes that are what make up the Lower Colorado River lake system... Getting further out of town, we have Johnson City, where LBJ grew up and the LBJ Ranch, and if you want to see a really "natural" wonder, go just a bit further to Enchanted Rock....

There are a number of places of attraction for visitors and tourists around here. One of the most enticing place is the Rocky Mountain National Park. A beautiful scenic region, of attraction to local as well as foreign visitors. It would be white with snow during the winter, but very pleasant during the spring time. Spring time in the Rockies, as the saying goes.
