I think it is fine for women cry when they cut their hair

I watched the lastest season of America's Next Top Model -- All Stars last night. Some girls had to be cut their hair and they were upset to have the new hair style as it was shorter. At the same time some girls could have long hair and these girls seemed to look down upon to the girls who cried since they had short hair. As they were models, so they were supposed to have any kinds of haircut now and then, so they should adjust to the short hair, too. However, these girls might forget that they were lucky to have long hair so that they didn't find how bad other girls felt when their long hair had to be gone. If it is an exchange, it will be the turn for these girls to cry. It seems that girls still look prettier when they have long hair. Although hair can grow long, but it takes the time. So it is fine for these girls feel bad since it is a big change for them.

Personally I like women with long healthy hair and a lot of my male friends also prefer women with long hair, guess the models or would be models can feel this and they are really sorry because hair takes a very long time to grow

I think it is awful that these women's hair was cut. I see these make overs all the time. But, a person needs to feel good about themselves and if they feel icky with shorter hair then they aren't going to feel totally good about themselves. And it is a big change to their egos and to their self worth.

i find no wrong if a girl cry over long hair cut to shorter one. i experienced it myself when i was on my preteens. i love to wear my hair long ever since, but my mother is opposed to it. she said i could have my hair long when i am already in college. reason why, everytime my hair is already past my shoulder, she would have it cut.
when i was already in college, i could already decide on how i want to wear my hair. and since college too until now that i am already 31, my hair is always long. i have straight hair up to my hips, and right now i have it colored to burgundy. my hair is my crowning glory and i just love to take good care of this. i don't have any plans to cut it short.
happy mylotting!

It tends to upset someone especially girls who are used to long hair. As the say, hair is our crowning glory and girls pay more attention to their hair than men does. So when you cut away their long hair, it seems to them that part of their crown was cut too. Others can easily adjust to a new hairstyle but there are those who don't. I seldom use ANTM but if some of the girls there cried, I think it's just for showing purposes only and more like acting.

Yeah I think it is fine too. But the first time i had my long hair chopped, I didn't cry. Instead, I was super excited
I always had a long hair every since I was a kid and always wondered how I'd look short. I never had the courage to cut them though coz they were long. But after I was done with grade 10, I went and chopped my hair short hehe I looked good some say but some said I looked better with long hair. Oh well!!

I wouldn't let them touch my hair! In fact I loved it when a contestant years back refused to get her hair cut. She left the show!

oh youless you are so ri ght. I think women look like women with long hair. my best friend is after me to cut my hair. now she looks great in short hair but I do not.it just makes my face look huge while mylong hair slims it a lot. she does not understand it too all this time to grow so I do not want to cut it short. So I can really sympathize with those girls who had to have their hair cut really I can.great discussion.

Yes many woman are sensitive about their hair and I too having such long hair as I do to have it cut really short. It is a chance they take as not all of them move on in the contest. However when they do sign up they must know that that can happen, one of the reasons maybe to not sign up if they fear this may happen.
However, I think it is okay as women lots of tend to take very good care of our hair and it seems like someone butchers what we find to be endearing to us.

I think you are right, those who took pride in their long hair will feel lost without their confidence and pride in their long hair.
I have watched Top model and I certainly sympathize with some who had their hair all chopped off considering they came in with beautiful long hair. Tyra seems to know what works for them so if they want to be successful they need to listen to her..

well well well if i was a lady i would give you my best opinion but since am a man i will try it this way .... u know the feel we get is due to how our made is ..some ladies look prettier with long hair but some don't look super prettier with and the other way round any way .....so they all have to be fine with this but since this is a challenge we need to judge the beauty in all conditions let them not mind soon thy will regain their hair though slowly...... ever expect some challenges when participating a challenge
thank you...youless
