MyLot Is Good To Us In Many Ways!

Many of you are saddened when you see that a discussion of yours or a discussion of someone else that you responded to has been deleted. You are sad because myLot did not pay you for anything that you typed in that discussion that was deleted. You feel it's a punishment or you are being penalized.
MyLot does not pay us for violating the guidelines. If you or another member violates the guidelines, then the discussion will be deleted!
However, please realize, myLot is not bad or unfair! They are very good to us in many ways!
Did you know, that when a discussion gets deleted, all of the earnings that were taken away from those who participated in that discussion are then distributed among active users sometime during the month.
Isn't that nice of myLot? When you see that your earnings have increased one or two cents, and you aren't sure why... this is most likely the reason! Our earnings fluctuate all during the month because of discussions getting deleted. You see earnings deducted, but you also see earnings increase.
I think this is a very nice thing myLot does for us. They don't have to distribute those earnings back out to the active members of the community! They could just keep those earnings for themselves.
There are so many examples of how myLot is good to us. So many I can't even think of them all right now! What are some examples of how myLot is good/fair to us? Can you think of any?
Let's discuss about the many ways myLot is good to us! Join in everyone!

hi angelee oh yes mylot really is good to us and we should all remember that and not complain if we goof up and break a rule or try to help someone else and know their discussion will be deleted. I
have seen several changes on my own earnings going
up and was really delighted as every little bit helps when you need your earnings. One really nice thing is when mylot seems to be loading really slowly if you contact mylot you will find they do do
something to goose up the speed so that its just seconds and not
minutes to load ones posts. there are many other things too but
for now that all I can contribute as I need to stop for the night
soon. otherwise I will hear from my roomie. lol lol

Hi Hatley!
That's a great way that myLot is good to us! Whenever we have an issue, whether it be with the site or with another member, they always do the best they can to solve the issue and make their members happy!
I'm so glad you took the time to respond to my discussion right before you had to stop for the night.

Yes the only time I do feel bad is if someones discussion was deleted. I usually not worry about if my own participation is deleted as I usually know where I participate and even though at times I already know it is a violation, I do like to help and let them know.
As for the many ways myLot is good to me; My favorite is that it a place where I can come to completely free and enjoy my time here with the many others who I look forward to interacting here.
I enjoy helping with humble advice and always learn something new myself.

i feel bad thought when i stupidly write a discussion and without meaning to, it comes across as a poll.. and all my mylot friends have left a page or two of comments, and then it gets deleted. i feel so bad that my mylotting friends have put effort into responding to my discussion and then their earnings and participation gets stripped from them because of my fault.. :(

I too respond to some discussions, knowing that it will be deleted. Sometimes, I just respond to let them know they are violating a guideline, and their discussion will most likely be deleted soon. Then, I post a link to the guidelines and encourage them to take the time to read them, in hopes they will learn what will be deleted and what will not.
I also like the fact that I can come here to kind of get 'away' from real life, and just be myself here. I also love helping others, especially the new members. I want everyone to have a good experience on myLot, and I do my best to be friendly and helpful.

Hi there Angelee!
I was reading through the responses here and do you know what I was thinking?
I guess you want me to tell you too lol
I see that you are starting many informative topics concerning myLot and letting others know all the insides and outs so that they can enjoy it as much as possible and this means that those of us who were doing these topics previously can now take a break and move on to other pastures
I see that there were many who were unaware that myLot share with us. Now that they all know maybe we will see fewer complaints too... not lol
MyLot have been good to me ever since I joined. They forward my earnings bang on time, sometimes even early!

No matter how many times some of us tkae the time to enlighten them, iot seems that there are still others, some of them who joined more recently, who are oblivious to this.
Keep UP the good work!

Yes, there will always be members who do not understand myLot. However, it's impossible to teach everyone, everything. We can only do so much to help new members, or even older ones who still do not know some things.
You can learn a lot just through participating and exploring on your own here in myLot too.

I enjoy starting these discussions about myLot! I love sharing my love for myLot, and how good myLot is!
I had no idea so many people didn't know about myLot distributing the earnings back to members after a discussion is deleted! However, I am so happy that they learned something new!

Hello angelee, they just whine and complain for no reason as if mylot owes it to them, the thing is that we are all treated equally here. and people who likes to be aggressive and pokes around doesn't last here and thats why i stay here in the course of time. what is wrong with following the rules anyway? and what's the point of neg rating people who are innocent and had nothing to do with them? i think the damage control of trolls is not that much here compare to other sites that has less users who follow rules.
Mylot has paid me, tolerated my inability to speak good english sometimes and gain friends here that i thought i never had. . I have been always grateful to mylot for so many years. and I don't bother myself to those who are not contented with what mylot can give

Hi there LK!
I agree. Some myLotters act very ungrateful at times. They complain about things, without understanding them! Also, they do not take into consideration all of the good myLot does, and how fair it really is!
I don't think your English is that bad! I can understand you friend. I am sure that you have improved in your English since using myLot, right? Nobody is perfect, and everyone has something they could use improvement on.

I agree with you Angelee that mylot is simply awesome . I see that my earnings sometime increase by one or two cents but did not know why it is so . Thanks for letting us know . It is a perfect forum with no biasness and that is why it is so popular . I am surprised but happy to find that it even rewards for using the search engine here . I don't think there is any other site to match mylot .

Hi rollylolly!
Not everyone knows, which is part of the reason I included that explanation in my discussion. Glad to hear that I informed someone who did not yet know.
I agree with you, it's a great place! It's quite rare to see any rudeness or discrimination here on myLot. Most myLotters are very friendly, kind, and helpful.
Nothing compares to myLot! It's unique!

Every time that you mention that it is decreasing you are drawing attention to it.
Concentrate on having fun and making quality posts and you will soon see it increase again

Hello Dear Angelee! Thanks for the information! I never knew about it! May I know where from you gathered this information? I am pleasantly surprised with this kind gesture by he admin! Yes, now and then I have realised that few cents are getting increased in my account at some odd time without doing anything! I never [aid any attention to this change! Now having read your posting I think or rather I should say that I realise that the change occured in the earnings was due to the adjusted payment distributed amongst the active members! This is a real professional approach by the admin.By doing so the Mylot admin has won the hearts of many active members and helped them to rejuvenate themselves! This gesture is really worth appreciating!
Yes, like you said this amount could have been retained by the admin. himself instead of distributing the same amongst the active members! I think this will create a positive feeling on the site and the Morales of the active members will get increased!
Yes, Mylot is special in many ways and with this feature added by you i think the site has added one more feather in its Cap! So dear fellow Mylotters lets tighten our seat belts and contribute our share in he form of posting some quality and descriptive discussions and responses so that our site Mylot will remain Special one for ever! Thanks for the discussion! I liked participating in it!

Thanks for the efforts taken and for furnishing the link! Oh yes, sure have learnt about it just through this discussion only! So you can definitely say that I have learned some thing new today! Sure, the information is in the FAQ, right here - http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#17 where is says: "Why do my earnings fluctuate?". Also, I have heard it from some of the members who have been on myLot for a long time.
I agree, AKRao24. It's something that shows just how kind and reliable the admin of myLot are. It's something that they really don't have to do, but by doing so, it really does show kindness!
I'm glad you enjoyed my discussion, and learned something new!

I have been a member her for well over 5 years now. Sometimes active and sometimes not so active. Always here though reading regardless of participating. It wasn't always this way. Way back when their was a lot of violations going on, and flame wars. It got so bad I left the site for quite awhile. I never deleted my account and always read discussions but I just couldn't participate.
I got back into mylot and started responding to a few discussions every now and then, but here recently I have become much more active.
The guidelines have changed over the years, one thing has remained the same and that's mylot always pays. You never have to worry if your payment will be there cause it always is, a lot of times its even early.
My favorite thing about the site is the fact that I get to give my opinion on a variety of discussions and I get rewarded for that with new friends and to top it off someones pays me for my thoughts. What a bonus. Mylot is great so long as you listen to their warnings and follow the guidelines.

I think a lot of the problems that people have is just not reading or trying to understand the guidelines.
I rarely participate in a discussion that I don't expect a notice in my in-box about the discussion being deleted so therefore my response was deleted. I can count on one hand the number of responses that I have had deleted that I was surprised about. Many can't say the same and I think it's just not paying close enough attention to the guidelines.
My motto is if I can't figure it out I skip the discussion entirely. Ir's not about the money either, the money just sits there it's not used for any purpose. I just raised my pay out to 100 I figure I can spend that on something worthwhile.

I agree. Most people, especially new members, skip reading the Terms, FAQ, and Discussion Guidelines. They think that they're not important and they can figure it out on their own. Or, they're just plain lazy.

Wow, you've been here a long time! I hope that one day, I will get to tell everyone that I've been here for 5 years or more. That's a great achievement!
I too love how trustworthy myLot is. I never worry about whether or not I am going to see the money that I earned here. I know, with absolutly no doubts, that I WILL receive what I have earned. MyLot is one of the most reliable and trustworthy sites on the internet!
I agree, myLot is great so long as you follow the guidelines. If you choose not to follow the guidelines, you're not going to have a very pleasant experience on myLot. But that is not myLot's fault. It's nobody's fault but their own when they choose not to follow the guidelines. I often see discussions from those that have been removed from myLot, and have come back. They often claim that myLot is dirty and a scam! It's not true. They just don't understand, and are mad that myLot took action against their wrong-doings.

Hi Angelee, I noticed you brought up the financial benefits of mylot and yes, it is great and why probably why most signed up in the first place, I know that is why I did.
But the best it this is a community of different people, religion, culture, etc..That I can communicate with that I never could in any form of media. For example, though I have very good hearing, (Just ask my 9 y/o...lol) I have trouble understanding someone if they have a light accent, so if someone had a heavy accent, there is no way we could ever communicate. I have friends in India, the UK, Germany, Israel, and we have awesome discussions..But put me on the phone with them or in person, it would be a nightmare trying to decipher through the way they pronounce words..Plus I learn how other cultures work and can remove the stereotypes that I had before I met my friends..:)

I completely understand zuki. It is like this Brazilian friend I have on FB. I ended up calling her one time because she kept giving me her number and there were a few times I had to ask her to repeat herself and some things I had no idea what she said, so I let it go. But when IM her on FB, I know exactly what we are both talking about...

This is so true! I have learned a lot about different people and cultures from mylot and I am glad for it. I am not trying to be funny but if I am speaking to someone and can not understand them I don't engage in conversation with them as much as if they didn't have an accent. It's nothing personal to them. It's just I get frustrated by their accent. I am so glad for mylot because now I can make new friends and understand them too!

Yes, Mylot is really a good site. I now noticed that i earn more than what i expect of in my discussions and responses than the past early months when i first joined in. . I guess, i am just too happy to ask why is it so.
I do know that when my earnings decreases by a cent or two there will be a sure notification of deletion the next day.
But as to why sometimes, it increases by a cent or two during the day, that i just have known from you , today.
Thanks for informing us my friend!

Did you know, that when a discussion gets deleted, all of the earnings that were taken away from those who participated in that discussion are then distributed among active users sometime during the month.
No, I didn't! I just know it from you..
I was re-reading FAQ once again, and find these:
"During the recalculation of earnings some users with lower-quality contributions will see a decrease. Any money deducted from users due to our abuse and moderation processes is then reallocated to myLot users based on certain qualitative factors. Due to this, earnings will fluctuate."
I understand that my earnings will be decreased if one of my responses being deleted. But, about the increase of earning, I always think that it is because one of my response is getting more positive feedback (+), so my earning increase..
Now I know I was wrong.
That increase of earning was coming from the deleted discussions and responses! :D
Thank's for helping me realize this fact.. :)

Hey, right now the number besides my name has been deducted..
I guess some of my earning would be deducted and would be given to someone else.. I wonder who'll accept this..
Anyway, I am just a bit curious. My activity point had been deducted for 5+ *means some of my responses had been deleted*, yet I receive less notification about my deleted responses.. Do you have any idea: why?

Wow! Really I never knew that! I thought when discussions and comments get deleted, I just thought Mylot just took back your earnings. Who knew that Mylot is so kind that they would take those earnings and share it amongst the active community! I love this site at lot. i'm just as enthusiastic as I was the first week, but I have relaxed a lot more since I got my score up to 500 and I don't have the stresses of not being able to paste anymore. I'm so used to cutting and pasting to move words and sentences around in my posts that it really frustrated me at first not to be able to do that. Looks like you will hit
the magic number soon with all the effort you have put in since joining.
I do love that MyLot pays us, but what I really like is they do enforce the rules so that the trolls can't ruin everything. So far I've not run into any trolls, and I think it's because the forum is moderated.
Most of all, I'm glad this forum is still free. All the rules and features seem to be designed to make us want to improve ourselves by being more active, and to help any referrals that sign up under us by encouraging us to help them become all they can be. I would certainly invite any friends to join if I thought they could benefit.
