Do you creative write?
I do and I was wondering where you get your ideas from to write your writing.
I get my ideas fromreading short stories, the children when they talk about what they have been learning in English lessons, watching people around me.
Where else do you get your ideas from?

My ideas just come to me. As a character for one of my stories did when I was in junior high school. It just appeared in my mind. I have written and tried to finish a novel about this character but I cannot. It is as if this character is a part of me and I am very attached. I just can't finish the story and let this character go. I also journal about my feelings and things I see and/or hear.

I admit I am not a creative writer. I write what ever comes to my mind at the time of writing. I guess having been here for more than five years has more or less groomed me to write better though lack of creativeness. I wish I can emulate those great writers here who can mesmerise their readers with their creativity.

I do, but not so often. My creative juices are often burned up from my writing job... LOL!
When I do spit out something creative, it's usually inspired by a song, music video, or something that I've seen or heard while hanging around my favorite diner. My boyfriend's pain in the @rs3 sense of humor also inspires a lot of my creative writing.

I don't think I could survive without creative writing! This world is quite boring (at least when one is not on vacation). Our lives tend to follow similar paths and I believe we all get stuck in a mundane routine at one time or another. Fiction is a way to escape that.
A lot of my ideas are spurred form reading other fiction - and that includes short stories. I also find myself drawing inspiration from TV, historical occurrences and of course nature. Perhaps some of the most unexpected inspiration comes from what people say. You will never know what you are going to hear when you go out. It seems that people, in all the various ways, can offer some of the most unique inspiration. :)

I used to do quite a bit of creative writing, and sometimes still miss it though there never seems to be time anymore. Between the kids, husband, daily lives, and trying to prep for the next rodeo there just isn't enough time for it any more. I do still try to read, but even that is limited. **SIGH** I need to find a way to put more hours in the day!

As a creative writer, I am a sponge, grabbing every droplet of life for my writing. The process of acquiring ideas can be thrilling. My inspiration can come from an image, a saying, a situation. It is a pretty big world. Sometimes, I find myself inspired by other writers and their processes. You just never know were your next spark will appear. For certain, keep writing.

I wish I could be more creative in writing! I want to join some writing sites but I have a feeling my writings are not good enough for writng sites or even being published anywhere less! I wish my writing was so much better I am sure I could write a book or two!

How couldn't I? Creative writing/novels/stories are my PASSION in life. Without it I wouldn't be me. I get my ideas mainly from hearing to music and walking in circles for hours, literally. You'd be surprised of how wild your imagination can get. There's also anime viewing and daily life events that spark a sudden interest. I HAVE to keep a tiny notebook with me at all times. As a fast thinker my ideas can vanish as many more pop in if I don't write them at the moment. What type of creative writing do you do?

It actually depends on my mood . There are times that I have so many ideas on my mind, and there are also times that i feel like my brain is drained and I could not think of anythng. The time when I have full of ideas iswhen I'm lying on my bed, about to sleep. I will close my eyes and all the ideas will be on my head. When it happens, I will get my iPhone and write all of it.

I write creative non-fiction and get my ideas from travelling I did. I simply put together lots of things that happened, embellish them a bit and use a different chronological order. I don't know if I am allowed to post a link. Could you let me know, because then I can show you how I combine fiction with reality.

Yes, and just recently I submitted a poem to one of the Regional Conferences that I hope to go to in November. I write a lot of poems and short stories, but I am trying to branch out as much as I can.

I can't say where I get my creative ideas from. I admit to being inspired from reading a good book, but it never helps me get ideas. Generally, an idea for a scene will pop into my mind and it plays like an episode on TV. I see it clearly in my mind, can feel the emotions of the characters, and feel what they are feeling.
Sometimes, I have a hard time putting what the scene is about into actual story words, so what I do is make notes, and then expand on them later. Before I know it, my notes have become full fledged paragraphs.
Of course, this doesn't always happen. There are many times I could just write and write, adding details, adding specifics, and what not. Currently, I am working on a modern fantasy novel, and the ideas just keep bursting into my head. It's like it's screaming at me to work on it. Weird, eh?

Yes I do creative write at times. I think I get most of my ideas from the life I am leading, or some books I read somewhere or some songs. But I have really a hard time coming up with topics to scribble about.
