Can a Mi-Fi air card get a virus?

I am wondering if it is possible for an air card to get a virus on it. For the past two or three days my Verizon Mi-Fi air card has been turning itself off at random, for no reason. Now as I posted in an earlier discussion my MSN email account has been blocked....possibly due to spamming. I know that I personally did not do anything to violate terms of use, including spamming as I do not even log in but once or twice a week. So far my computer seems to be clean, so now I am wondering about the air card. And if it can get a virus, then how would you go about finding out or cleaning it? Especially since there are no anti-virus programs for them..... Any help would be appreciated.
