He doesn't like football! Is he Gay? ( a rant)

I just heard abut this app at Google that has questions you answer and it shows if your child is gay or not! Really? One of them is , " Does your son like football?" And if he doesn't , he may be gay! Really? So if you are a woman and you love football you are gay? There are many straight men who do not like football! This is so stupid. After we got rid of " Don't Ask Don't Tell" now we have this? It is so sad because many parents are going to take this quiz and assume their child is gay And then they will Overreact! It is so sad that many Still think if you like this you Must be that! Sadder still these are the same parents who don't talk to their kids.If they did , they will find out the truth! and they would see their child is the Same , gay or straight!

I think it doesn't make a sense to judge whether a person is gay or not since he doesn't like football. There can be many reasons not to like this sports. But being gay is not a reason. Some people may just prefer to watch the relaxing sports rather than the violent one. I love China

I don't think that because the boy doesn't like football he will be gay, but definitely he will suffer from the others boys at the school. At least, here where I live (Brazil), soccer unfortunately is bigger than anything, it's more important than politics.

My grandson is six six....and everyone thinks he was a basketball player..I would say that evaluating someone on a question like this is crazy...Just like assuming a tall person must be a basketball player.....weird.

Guilty. But what I say is if they are not playing basketball it is a shame. I do not say " You must be a basketball player!" My mom would say if a tall guy walked down the hallway, the basketball coach would be wooing him rto join the team. So Guilty as charged!

Wow! Fire, I guess being a straight girl I can enjoy football in a completely different way. 22 Hot guys on the screen at the same time!

That'd be me. :) In fact watching some stranger -popular or not- play any sport is an effective waste of time and attention.

With Women tending to be in the minority at football games, that sort of surprised Me..You'd think there would be more Women at games Checking out these fit Guys! And I suppose the same thing goes for Gay Guys too...

Everyone is not going to have the same enthusiasm for a particular sport. We all have different interests, likes and dislikes as well. Just because a male doesn't go crazy over football does not make him gay. We can't force anyone to enjoy something just because of their gender and nobody should have to prove who they are because of their choices about sports.

Does your son like football? Yes. He's probably covering for something.

This app is just as dumb. I wish the parents would get off the phone and talk to their kids. The true answer isn't in the results of a test but in the mouths of the kids!

Oh no...that is not a good app at all. I think your right about people taking the quiz and then overreacting. The thing is that there are alot of stereotypes out there about gay people, straight people and the things that they do or don't. I think it's crazy. You can't take a 2 minute quiz and know anything more about anything than what you did start with.

I think one can take a quiz about history and/or an health issue and know more afterward. But people? Never! You Have to talk to them and learn as you go. But sadly many parents don't have or take the time!

I do have gay friends who love to see boxing, and basketball, and volleyball and all other sports, football included probably. Well, partly they are after the hunky players too! yeah, that was a stupid site. And I enourage parents not to believe in it.

This proves this is just another excuse for parents to not to take the time to talk or spend time with there kids! That is a ahame! I was never told of the "birds and the bees" growing up! I was not told about money and bills. I was never told "I love you" by my parents! I had to learn most of the stuff the hard way! I feel sorry for these kids! Their parents are jerks and the kids are on the road to screw up ville!

My G-d!I didn't learn the birds and the bees from my parents or know about bills But my parents said and showed how much I was loved. Me? i didn't say it enough looking back but I did show it often! I agree these kids are raising themselves!

I don't see what's football got to do with it. What if the kid lives outside of America? Or is an immigrant and prefers another sport over football? That doesn't necessarily mean their gay. A bit of a silly app is that!

No , it isn't silly, it is dangerous. Many will assume a lie and disown or they will try to "fix" their kids.

I think that might be a quiz from the right wingers. They are all paranoid about gay people. Strange. Look, I don't like football and I am not gay, so that blows their theory. Who ever made that quiz up just does not seem to like gay people. What should be a rebuttal to that is, how many football player are gay? If so, who cares? Like I said, it's coming from the right wingers, the holy rollers and most of them are KKK. Ignore it, they are ignorant.

Agreed! But we are trying to right the ship a bit. No more Don't ask , don't tell. Gay couples can get legally married in some states. So we are on our way.

You're right, any normal human being would feel the same way. What difference does it make anyway. I am sure there are lots of gay people that love football. Thats why this country is upside down.

this will depend on every single person because i heard something that one player was gay, rare, but it might be true, so in my own opinion i dont think is true, because im man straight, i like to play football but i dont like to see it on tv, i find it bored, i like action, first of all because is a good sport to keep ourselves healthy.

I agree with you. It doesn't mean that a child is gay because he doesn't like football. It's quite wrong to take football as parameter in order to precise if a person is gay or not. Football is a sport like others. There are countries where most of the people doesn't like football but they prefer other sports. So we can't judge these countries based on that. This is valid on the opposite case.

It's hard to believe that people are gullible enough to believe this. Does this mean that men who like art, classical music, and ballet, are gay, too? People of both sexes have diverse interests. I personally prefer watching basketball to football or baseball, but really prefer not watching any of them. I'd rather play than watch -- at least once upon a time I did. I was also a tomboy and I personaly loved to climb and hang out in trees. I have known gay people and straight people who fit and did not fit the stereotypes. I hope this app is a miserable failure.

That's Exactly what they are implying! If a guy isn't into football , And prefers fine arts He Must be gay. It sounds like this app was written by a 9 year old! I'm your polar opposite. I hate basketball , I rather watch grass grow. I like football and baseball and Love , love hockey. I have never played any of them.

Or to twist that one the other way - he likes figure skating, must be gay! Some people are just stupid.
