There are some instances that we cannot open a certain secret to our family.
Sometimes we're not comfortable with the situation that we're into.
And we cannot open up to anyone but our friend / friends.
They're the ones who comforts us when in need and we cannot turn to anyone but them, who understands us and accepts us and scolds at us when we're at the wrong side.
I love my friends. :)

I treat my friends as my family, too. :) I think they're angels-in-disguise. :)
I am not too open to my parents especially my mom because I feel like won't understand the things that's going through me. So I usually end up telling my friends and get some free advise from them. They listen to me, stays by my side, takes on my side..
I love them so much. I couldn't imagine life without my friends.

Aww I love stories like this. Maybe it's partly because I urge for this type of friendship but I truly love to see friends like this. Don't ever let your real friend go as you will regret it later on and yes it's true some secrets are too *ahem* personal for us to disclose.

I am in the same situation. It is usually easy to say your secrets to friends instead of telling your mother or your father. It is not that I don't love my parents. I love them so much. However, there are instances that they would not understand. I guess it has something to do with our generation gap.
I am now trying to increase the bond between me and my family. I feel responsible for their future. I hope I can give them what they need now that they are growing old. It would be good to talk with them concerning the family but I don't want to oblige them with my own worries.
I thank God that I have friends who are like older sister to me.
Have a nice day.

But it is still best to have friends that are related to you somehow. I treat my elder sisters and brothers as my friends and my cousins ,too. I treat my daughter my friend too and in fact she always listed me as her best true friend. Friends are jewels but if we can befriend our own relations, they can be the most precious jewel that we ever have!

yes you are absolutely right.. I have experienced same problem and thinking that best ways to solve our personal problem sometimes came out from our best friends not from family members..Especially those relationship problem with our partner, they tend to be too subjective and unfairly judge compare with our friends ..However some of my cousins can act as a best friends as well...they are all good to assist in bad or good situation and solve the problem...

I am so glad I have that kind of friends too. I love them and I would be so lost without them. They have been in my worst days and I hope I can be there for them too. Life would be so empty without friends

There are friends that stick closer than a brother so I do understand when there are some people who confide to their friends more than they do to their family. But as for me, my family is my best friend. I confide to them more than any other persons around me.
