One of the hardest things in life is feeling stuck in a situation that we dont like and want to change. Often it is difficult to understand, even with hindsight, how the choices we have made in the past, have added up to our current situation. It is a good idea to examine the story we tell ourselves because we do have the power to change it by acknowledging that in the past, we did our best, and exhibited many positive qualities. We can also recognize that we have learned from our experiences, and that this will help us with our current choices. When we view our past this way, we make it possible for the future to be based on a more positive self-assessment. This inner shift may allow us to get out of the cycle weve been in thats been keeping us stuck. What are your thoughts on this?

For a while this year, it did seem that way but I seem to really have gotten out of it. Well not completely, but enough where I am going to make some small amount of process to get through life completely. I think that a little change of perspective here and there is healthy for a conductive and positive life to say the very least.
So yeah, I'm slowly but surely pulling myself from this rut that I had been in. It is not an easy time but it is one that has to be done. I think that in due time, it is really going to be something that is going to shift my life. Time tends to pass and I hope to really be dynamic instead of a static life that seems to just be stuck on the treadmill.

I have felt like I've been stuck in a rut for years! It is good to think about what we have done and what we may still do to make a difference. Although it is not always so easy to actually make the changes required even if we know what they are. I know I have done a lot to get out of my rut but still don't seem to be getting anywhere! It is important to continue doing things which are important to us and important to get changes made as well as to not get bogged down with things we don't really need.

Believe me, I have spent several years doing things to change it and I'm still trying! It's not easy when, for every positive change I try to make, a whole load of bad stuff happens which is out of my control! I have, however, got some fantastic friends and two brilliant kids who encourage me and I have just started working towards a degree so can't complain too much!

Many times lately I have felt this way. Due to all the problems that I am experiencing with my Health and then this job that is just there, with no real satisfaction to it. It is very hard at times to be able to enjoy life, and change things when you have no control over them. For times like this for me, I just continue to Pray more and Trust God more and believe that in the end it will be worth it all.

Hi KrauseHome, Thank you for sharing and there are certainly times when it's difficult to get out of a rut. Since I'm not in your situation, I certainly can't comment on it, but I hope that things will improve for you very soon. The one thing that we can all be certain about is change. Blessings.

Maybe but in my case, its not helping at all. I know that I’ve not given my best in the past (though at that time, I was not matured enough to understand it) so I’ve accepted whatever life has offered me and decided to move on. So while I don’t exactly feel being stuck in a rut, I don’t see anything wonderful happening to me either. It’s a kind of numbing acceptance of facts, nothing more nothing less

I'm kinda feeling like this these past few days. I have a lot of ideas and thoughts of what I want to do in the next couple of months but the more I think about it, the harder it gets. It's hard when there's a lot of factors and obstacles that's challenging you to succeed or reach your goal. But I want to keep moving forward and that's what I'm going to do. No matter what, I won't give up because I do not want to be stuck in a rut.

I think that it's very easy to get stuck in a rut when we get into a pattern of life that we choose to stay in for a large proportion of our time at once. I am graduating University next July, and after that I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. I work from home at the moment, which gets me more than enough money to live on, but I worry about not getting out of the house enough and therefore not making any friends or anything like that. I think that I will probably get used to it eventually, but it might take a lot of effort.

hi Pose,
When you set up a dream without much thought and planning and resources, it is possible that you get stuck know not what exactly you need to do now. The circumstances seem not favoring your efforts.
Not so big but I was almost in the similar state when I was doing my undergraduate course. As in our system when a student gets admission for say BA or B.sc or B.com or other courses you need to select one subject as your specialized paper if you opt to do your graduation with honors.
As I had great fascination towards English Language and Linguistics I invariably chose this as my special paper. Initially I had no problem and though without difficulty I would be through but slowly things started getting tougher for me.
After appearing the first paper I saw I would not succeed and told my hostel mates about dripping But my friends told me that what guarantee is there that I would do better next time and they asked me to complete the examination. I felt as if I were literally in a rut.
But I appeared all the papers and I fared well in them. When result came out I some how qualified for the continuations. There after no looking back. I made strict schedule for myself and it helped me come out of the rut and I passed my graduation with much better percentage.

I have looked back over the choices that I made and am amazed at how and why I ended up where I am. It is all good too. I know that I was in a bad relationship and finally ended it. I sat back and looked at everything in a different light. It was amazing how much I really learned from it.
