Is the Christian Church Just Another Denomination of Judaism Now?

I was thinking--with Christian churches promoting 'tithing' (a Jewish practice) rather than "gift-giving" or "sharing with the Spirit" or whatever they should ACTUALLY call it--the only difference between Judaism and Christianity is the animal-sacrificing ... But wait a minute---do Jews still sacrifice animals, or do they just give more, or what?

The "early christians" were not christians, they were Jews and gentiles who were still following the Torah and the TANAKH. It took a pagan called Constantine to help pull them completely away from the Jewish faith. The Jews have not sacrificed animals since the last Temple was destroyed. At that time Synagogues and Prayer replaced sacrifice. The sacrifice of animals had nothing to do with tithing. Tithing was for the support of the Priests and the poor. There are many differences between Judaism and christians. Jews do not have graven images in their Synagogues...They have no crucifixes or statues of saints and angels. They only pray to the Creator, they have no other gods. They keep the Sabbath according to the laws of the Torah. They keep the 613 Mitzvot not just the 10 of the christians. The christ figure stated that he was not going to change the law...christians keep forgetting that he was a Jew...

Jesus as Buddhist? Ok. The way Jesus and the Christians describe heaven, I don't want to go. I won't fit in! It is Only for Christians so that leaves me out!

But I like to think that Jesus was a Jew in-circumstance only. Really, He was a Buddhist---it's important to note that Buddhists DO NOT 'worship' Buddhas. (They DO 'highly respect' Each, highly enough to even be CONSIDERED 'worship'; but that's only so much as Protestants worship angels and Catholic worship Saints (... i.e. we all agree that they were serving a good cause and praise their memories, but--just as Catholics and Protestants only 'worship' God--so Buddhists only 'worship' the Path of a Buddha.) A lot of Jesus' teachings informed listeners that 'tradition for tradition's sake' won't "get you into Heaven."

The way Jesus and Christians describe Earth, I might not want to go there either! Good thing 'wanting to go there' isn't one of the prerequisites of entering either place!

I am thinking the animal sacrifices went out of style some time back..lol. To be honest..there are alot of similarities in most all denominations and religions. If one cuts to the chase..they are all pretty much supposed to be based on a higher power, peace, and love. Supposed to be being the key words. What people make of it is another story.

That's what gets me down about the Christianity of a lot of my closest friends: they think 'being Christian' means "you have to believe everything the official Bible-interpreters (somewhere) say the Bible says about Jesus" ... umm, No! What I think it means is that you do everything 'in Jesus name' (as everything you do is--you suppose--what Jesus-Himself would do in your situation). And what that means is that He gets credit for it---good or bad, He'll take the credit--the punishment OR the reward (tho He'll mercifully pass the rewards back to you ... usually).

The sacrifice was offered in Jerusalem Temple. After the destruction of Jerusalem Temple there is no sacrifice no holocaust. The Jews pray in Synagogues. But they have some traditions and customs while preparing the food specially during the festivals.

What do they do in Synagogues, basically 'beg for mercy'?

The Law given to ancient Israel encompassed all the aspects of daily life. Tithing was one of them. But in the time of early Christians tithing was no longer in effect because they were not under the mosaic law but under the law of Christ. There were no hard and fast rule on giving gifts or giving contributions. Under inspiration, Apostle Paul encouraged Christians in Corinthians to give according to what they have and do just as he has resolved in his heart.- 2 Cor. 8:12-15, 9:7.

In the synagogues men pray the writings from the Old testament. They have a reserved place where the scolls of Old Testament are kept. They read it. Then they pray. Their prayers are so deep and so inspiring. Still wait for Messiah. The women have a separate balcony to pray.

He went on to say that He came to FULFILL the law.

Yes, tithing is in the Torah, and since the Torah's a part of the Bible, and is a standard way of maintaining property grounds, it really makes sense. Animal sacrifices was done away with with our Messiah Yeshua being the ultimate sacrifice on the Cross. (technically a tree) As for Jews sacrificing animals, I think some sects still sacrifice a lamb on Passover, but not in mainstream judaism.

Jews no longer sacrifice animals...that ended with the destruction of the last Temple by the Romans. Prayer now replaces sacrifice. Most Jews do not eat lamb at Pesach. Christians eat lamb now. To Jews only the Torah and the TANAKH constitute the Bible. Christians incorporated the Torah into their bible, but they only use it when they need to prove their christ was the messiah

Your premise is flawed since there aren't many Christian churches that say "don't give gifts or share with the Spirit, just give tithing". In fact, the whole concept of tithing is pretty mixed among Christian denominations. Most Christians I know make fun of the whole concept.
