Are you a country music fan?
My kids love it, which cracks me up cuz I am not a huge fan at all and usually laugh at most of the crap they sing.
I love all kinds of music and I think there are some very, very talented country artists. BUT... I can get depressed enough by reading the news, watching the television and thinking of some of my own problems without having to have to listen to someone whine about their problems or sing about people dying, etc.
One son in particular that kills me is Rascal Flatts, whom I think is an awesome artist but is soooooo freaking depressing! lol
Anyone else agree or disagree?

I too love country music. There are many songs that are sad-- and really make you think.. but many fast uplifting songs also.
Kenny Chesney is my favorite! Big Star, Summertime, Alot of things different, I go back- way too many to list.
I also love Toby keith-- Who doesn't love the song- The Angry American- (Courtesy of the Red, white & Blue).. Its a great song!
Country music is just like other music- sad, happy, uplifting, silly, rocking.

Country music can be like other types of music, but it does seem to have certain themes that get repeated over and over. A singer named David Allan Coe did a song joking about how all great country songs talk about momma, trains, trucks, getting drunk, and being in prison. He was kidding of course, but there's a lot of truth in it...

I personally enjoy country music. Its one of my favorites. And I actually enjoy Rascal Flatts too, I think their music is great and in no way does it depress me.
I too enjoy all other types of music, I'll listen and enjoy almost all kinds...I am very open usually on music. Except when it comes to like the crap you can't understand and is just annoying. lol

Rascal Flatts is truly one of those not quite country, not quite rock sort of singers. I like him too and most all I've heard from him.

I listen to a lot of country music. Toby Keith, Trace Atkins, Kenny Chesney, not to mention Reba, Shania Twain, Martina McBride to name just a few. I also like many of the older artists in country although I do not like Hillbilly. There is a big difference.
If you want to hear some good songs that will lighten your mood try Lonestar especially there song called "Mr. Mom". If you can see the video it's even better. Or "Girls Lie Too" by Terry Clark, the video is great as well. Last suggestion "Celebrity" by Brad Paisley, another one that the video is great for. Of course then you have Cledus Judd, he's the country version of Weird Al.
