Running outside when a helicopter flies by

I still look up and watch choppers. They go by a lot here. I cannot not look. We used to run out to see airplanes.

Having grown up in sight of the runway of an airport,there's still a bit of the airplane geek in me as I'll go to airshow type events..the insect like ability of a Helicopter to touch down in a small area is still an attention getter..The hotel where I work has space for a Helicopter to land outside,and occasionally there'll be a visitor (or 2!) parked overnight..We'll make jokes about throwing them a loaf of bread!

Hey...I'm mid-middle aged and I still run outside to look and wave. Sometimes they are flying low enough so I can see someone waving back. I still wave to the train engine driver too and he always waves back.

How cute. My oldest has done that as well. Well, the running outside part, that is. My husband and I will go outside as well...if the helicopter is low enough or if it's working near our house. We had the latter happen a few months back when a couple of helicopters were helping to put up new power poles and lines. It was really something to watch... Happy mylotting!

Yeah, that's how simple our happiness are when we are kids ^^ I too remember myself doing the same whenever we heard the helicopter fly over our heads but we can never see it because we are either in class or at home.. lol =D Till i grew up, in the army, seeing helicopters everyday, i got bored of them yet remain interested in seeing them take off and landing.. haha

i can perfectly relate to this one. that's how we do too when we were kids. and you can imagine, there are not planes too flying near our place since we were living near the rice fields.

I remember going to the windows and looking out whenever I heard a helicopter too. lol. I think a lot of kids do that.

Hahaha!! That just made me laugh! I did that too! hahahahaha.. it's really funny when we realize the things that we used to do when we were kids!!! hahahahaha.. I bet my nephew and niece would laugh their pants off knowing that because they no longer do that these days.. oh well.. hahahahahahahaha That's a nice one there.. Just made me smile today! Oh...I used to love helicopters when I was a child too! Airplanes were a joy to see too. It was amazing that there were actually people in those things flying around in the sky like a bird.

I also remember this when I was a kid. We want to take a closer look at it with fascination. Now, I seldom saw a helicopter flying around. I wonder where they are now...like those dragonfly that are missing too.

Hi secret bear! I used to do that when I was a kid. Whenever we hear a helicopter, we usually go outside to see it. We are so amazed specially if the helicopter is flying low. Haha brings back old memories.

When i was a kid i really go outside when there is a helicopter flying. My friends and i shouted that there is a big steel birds flying. We even said that please let us fly with them. That's really funny when i think of it now.

LOL. Not just us. Sometimes the whole school gets so curious that students even go outside just to check it out, even the teachers. xD

he he really? i do not remember doing this when i was a child, but i guess i am a bit not happy hearing them around. haha it sorts of give me a negative connotation because around 1986 i think was the time of the revolution and i thought it was scary to have heard such sounds in the sky...

I remember that one too, when I was young when the helicopter was flying outside, I will wave and say "bye-bye" even with airplanes. It is one of those times when my mind is very shallow and I get happy easily over a very silly things. It is indeed create a joy to us when were kids.

It reminds me of my childhood in the same case when a plane flew by in the city sky. It was always very exciting to us kids. I used to naively think that it would be nice if I could catch hold of one plane flying by when it was flying low. This idea was rather silly. hehe. Have a good day, secretbear.

I lived in a small town. I had never seen a helicopter except on TV. One day, a helicopter put down across the road from us. I ran in and told my Mom who thought I was making it up. Then she looked out and saw it. My Dad went to see what was going on. The men who had come up on the helicopter were there to fix and inspect the machinery at the Telephone building. They were from hundreds of miles away and this was the fastest and best way for them to get there. We thought that was pretty cool. It gave me something to talk about in school when I was a kid. Thanks for the memories.

I did that! Now I still look at choppers because they will be TV crews doing aerial coverage of something, usually a protest, going on in the city. We get a lot of that here!

Oh those younger days of mine. It might be silly but it bring joy to me! Of course, I always run out to watch those helicopters fly above and even airplanes. Before, we live in a very far province so most of the kids on that place (including me) is very innocent about those things! :)
