If you are doing your best you don't have to worry about failure. But, there are people who never try again if they fail. They think that it is the end of the world and worst they even end up committing suicide. I know of a friend who is like this and I understand that there coping mechanism is very low that is why a support from a friend is very important..

I think never trying is worse because there is always the - what if? - question that hangs overhead. I know that to failure is frustrating but it is a learning experience like Thomas Edison is quoted as saying
"If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward".
this is one of many found here

People are different, they react differently that is what makes us humans and not machines. The fact that these people take failure so seriously means that at times they need help dealing with it, sometimes a professional will be able to make them see that failure is just a stepping stone, the next time things will turn out better and if they don't the next time the previous two mistakes will not be repeated and so on.
