I know how hard money is these days, but we just can't help forgetting sometimes. There are times when, after receiving some money as change or payment we just put it directly inside our pant pocket and forget about it. We toss the pants to the laundry with the money in it. It happens to me too. But I just got lucky this time because I was the one who did my own laundry and no, I did not find the bills while washing the pants, I never check pockets, I washed and hanged it to dry with the money. That was weeks ago. When I wore the pants this morning, I noticed a small bulge in the pocket so I checked it and touched a lump of paper which happened to be paper bills, not really big, but would buy me a good lunch. Luckily I was still able to open the crumpled bills....a case of money laundering? LOL

Yeah, I have done that several times hehehee.. Well, not really my money, more of the money of my brothers. They keep on wearing these pants and forgetting to take out bills that are tucked inside the secret pockets and I end up washing them all up only to realize that there is money there when the clothes have already left the washing machine. Though the bills are okay, what's bad for the machine are the coins.
Anyhow, it's no biggie, as they say 'finders keepers' hhehehe..
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I don't leave money in my pockets most of the time. It's usually my husband or my children who would do that. I would only notice the money after the washing when I dry out the clothes. My husband would just let me have the money. It's like "payment" for washing his clothes but I would normally let my children have their money back.

I always check the pockets before I wash them and no it is not because of money as I generally will only put coins in my pocket, mostly because of tissues. I have washed many a coin, and they come out sparkly clean. You were lucky the notes are still legible, because I read somewhere that paper money is actually made form cotton, so there is no problem washing them it the ink that fades and therein lies the problem.
It is fun finding cash that is forgotten, either in a pocket or a drawer and being able to treat yourself have fun.

I have washed money quite a few times. When my husband does the laundry he never checks pockets so that is usually when it goes in.

It hasn't happened too often to Me,as I'd seldom forget about money in my pocket..but fortunately, one of our local banks produced a series of plastic £5 notes,so they'll generally be fine if you happened to forget one going into the machine!

I have done it a couple of times in my past, but then the last time I did it, I managed to wash a £20 note which just so happened to be the last money that I had in the world at that time. That money was supposed to lat me for at least a week and a half and I was at such a loss as to what to do, because there was no way that I could get any more money, and I had to borrow a little bit from the bank which meant that I had to pay charges on it. So, you should be very careful about what you wash, because you will regret it if you wash your money by mistake.

It do happens with me few times.
Sometimes I am too lazy to check my pockets and just put everything inside the washing machine tub and then I saw paper bills floating and bills clanking inside the washing machine.

I am usually pretty thorough in checking pockets before doing the laundry. sometimes a pocket will escape me and I have laundered some cash a time or two. It has always come out all right for me though. The money was still in perfect condition when it came out of the wash. Sometimes I would not even realize i had washed some money until I find it tossing around in the dryer, I guess I could just call it a laundry tip and continue on with my day.

hiya Cutie!
tsk tsk...you money launderer you!
well, it has happened to me a couple of times too....and there were also the times when i discovered it only after the clothes came out from the machine! lucky thing that some of the currency notes over here are printed on that polymer paper, so that it doesn't just fall apart if a klutz like me carelessly leaves the bills in my shirt or pants pocket..
but then again, the cash came out smelling so nice, and felt so soft....maybe it was because of the softener used? hahaa...

Haha not me but that happens quiet frequently with dad. He forgets to take money out of his pocket. And I see mom drying up the money once his clothes are out of the washing machine

It happens to many times. After finding out that there are 'washed money' in my pocket, i took them out and iron them . lol. Because they really are crumpled but cleaned.
Sometimes it is also a blessing because i will discover it when I really need it. :-)

I think everyone does that from time to time. I like it even better is when they are no my pants, I like to think of it as being my "tip" for doing the laundry! Though of course if it's more than a dollar or change I'm nice and give it back. As odds are hubby would notice money was missing, I know I would.

hi cutie I think this has happened to most of us at some time in
our lives. I once laundered thirty dollars in three tens. they
were pretty sick but I went to my bank and they gave me three new bills as they said they could resurrect them enough to use them b t they had special ways to retrieve them if they are not to badly rumpled.so yea I sure laundred my own money.
