Today, the world is beset with both natural and man-made calamities. War in the middle east, natural disaster in far east, floods and typhoons everywhere , these are life's events that many of us are not prepared to happen and to bear its consequences.Rich and poor, alike. Many have lost their loved ones, their properties and everything they have work hard for. With these realities, there are also many people who are helping them to bear the effects of these calamities. People whom you do not know and heard of but because of their goodness they help. The rich ones give foods, medicines and other basic human needs. Others give their undaunted services without expecting something in return.People whom you don't even expect to help because they have no material wealth but they are there, distributing food in the evacuation centers, rescuing people in the flooded areas and bringing the children and the elderly on safer ground. These are people who did not even think of their safety while helping other people. But they are there helping others in need with all their heart but because of their innate goodness they are able to help even in their own material scarcity.
Is being materially poor hinder you to give others what they need?

Certainly, we don't have to be financially rich in order to give.
Money is not the most important thing in the world and people cannot just depend on money.
We can give support, we can listen to them, give advise or just merely staying by their side could be enough.

That is so true. we all have something to give of ourselves. we do not need to be rich, we do not need to have millions in our bank accounts and it would make all the difference. one act of course, kindness from our hearts to share the excess we have got and that is all it takes to help someone who badly needed our help.

Kindness is all that we got in order to share to those who are in need. Help is not limited to material scarcity but also emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological. If one is kind, she will be able to see these needs of a person but it does not mean that she can help that person in all her needs. She just have to help in the way that she is able to do, willingly and lovingly.

Unfortunately, there are so many needs, that one person is limited in how much he can give. So saying yes to some has to mean saying no to others. We have to pray in each case to see what God would have us to do. One can't be rescuing people in a flood while serving food in a homeless shelter at the same time, so one has to choose. Each has to do his own part, and together maybe we can make a difference.

We just have to address a particular according to our capacity. Since not all have the same needs we still can help them in other ways. It is not mandated but it is encouraged. We help freely and willingly without expecting something in return. IF everybody can contribute a little, the 'little' things when combined together becomes big and can be very useful. In doing this, we can really make a difference.
