I Think I May Need To Reschedule My Sleep Study

I am supposed to have a night and day study done October 4th, but I have a conflict with that now. I have developed either tendonitis or carpal tunnel in my wrist and the pain is affecting my sleep. The pain was so bad that they had to put me on tylenol with codeine and I know that affects sleep but going without it would too because then I would be in so much pain that I would not be able to sleep at all. Either way the results will not be accurate but if I don't reschedule I would probably have to have a repeat sleep study again. I have already had a repeat study for sleep apnea. This test is for narcolepsy. I just hate to have to reschedule because I know it will probably be months before I can get it done again.

Personally I think it is wise to reschedule only because if you are having difficulty sleeping due to the wrist pain, it may not really show the reasons for the real sleeping issue. I probably would ask your doctor for what he thinks as maybe their is a way for them to determine otherwise, due to the painful wrist.

Not that I'm a doctor. But I believe they should be doing a neuro testing not a sleep study. It sounds like a waste of medical insurance money. I think they need to chase the true issue. Not try to find some other problem. If you can't sleep because of pain then they need to deal with the wrist pain. Best Wishes!
