Am I using sickness as an excuse to be lazy?

Recently, I'd been resting at home for a week. Something happened in between my spinal code and the vein interferance after a sprained during the golf tournament.
The doctor adviced not to strain on it again while the swollen part is working on its way to subside. I have guilt when I rested, and I wonder why this guilt creeps into my thoughts and it's rather uneasy one for me.
I feared I'm not doing it right. I fear, my sickness is an excuse for me to rest.
I don't like the feeling of it. :(

Firstly I am sorry to hear that you have a painful back, this I know only too well and with me it was stress related.
I believe since you are use to be really active that although you know you need to take it easy and rest taht you are feeling guilty about not being able to do what needs to be done.
It is advisable to listen to the doctor and allow it to heal. When it is completely healed then you can go about doing what needs to be done. Overdoing it will lead to yet more down time.
I hope you feel better soon.

Jackie is pretty active here and am hoping her back is not keeping her from interacting here. She is quite the funny and very nice girl.
She will come back and roar right back in.

Hi HWG,
thank you for your praises. :) How lovely to be able to relax abit while I regain back my strength from the twisted muscles on my waist. Still having trouble brushing my teeth while bending over abit during the day.
Interaction on Mylot is not a challenged task at all. :) It's part of a life entertainment for me though, as I'm able to write down my thoughts and "wof wof" at people's discussion. hehe!
Hi Lyn,
Seriously, I'm lazy ler for the last couple of days. Words can't describe how lazy I have been eventhough I didn't got my waist twisted during the damn golf tournament!
Dang~~~ one golfer was commenting about my "senget= in English it means tilted back side. (Coz it's sprained!)
Anyway, nice hearing from you two, cheeky girls. ;)

the doctor said you had to rest. So Rest! If you try to do things now , you may have a relapse and make things worse! So Rest up . get back to 100% and Then get back to doing everything.

I know what its like to be injured and have to rest and I also know that it was hard for me to stay still. But, if the doctor said to not strain it and rest, then listen to him. You will be better off in the long run. It's a matter of healing right now, because if you don't, you will have more problems down the road.

Sorry to hear that, my friend. You should rest since the doctor already told you not to strain on it. It would be better if you let it completely heal before you think about work. Taking care of yourself is more important than taking care of your work right now.
So, be good, get lots of rest and get well soon.

the doctor has told you to rest. i think maybe you are just feeling guilty because you feel its wrong to sit around and you feel youshould always be busy, and so just sitting around seems wrong to you. but you must do what the doctor says, otherwise it may make it harder to recover and then you may have no choice but to be lazy. a bit of rest now will save on problems in the long run, this is a very sensible way to use your time, and not lazy at all.

Hmmm, true francesca. When living in a fast pace world, slowing down seems to be a tough lesson for me.
How come I feel guilty for slowing down? Hmmmmm
