I think the best way to go at this one is by just saying "do you smell that?" and put on a slight face of disgust. It will definitely get the person a little self conscious but it may get them to bathe more and clean up their act plus you're not a jerk because you never confronted the person which would make things 10 times more awkward than what I described above
