My experienced in referring other people

That is a tough one to answer. However, if he did not ask about it then you should have not brought it up. He might have felt as if you were trying to sell him something that he did not want. Not everybody wants to make money online, believe it or not. Also, with online referrals those people are asking for the info. So next time, it might be better to not bring it up unless somebody asks for the info. Good luck!

I don't try to make people join under my referral link. I just post them, and if someone joins under me or buys through my referral links then I'm lucky.

Well, I have stopped trying to refer my real life friends. They don't even accept the fact that you can turn the virtual money earned into real cash. This is the biggest milestone for me. Anf if they do, then they want to earn it big sitting on pc for a few days 24/7 which is not really possible for an inexperienced person. and then they run into scams. I try guiding them, holding their hands but they want to run already...lol So it is waste. Instead try making friends virtually, and refer them. They are probably going to work on the sites you refer them to. Why don't you start with me? Check my profile, I have my contact details there ;)
