Do you have a dream that's larger than life?

Hi there. We're all encouraged, from a young age, to dream big and to be the best we can be at the things we could be great in. We are inspired by stories like Oprah Winfrey's, where an ordinary person who went through extraordinarily difficult circumstances eventually rose above them and became extraordinarily great. Thus, most of us started out with big dreams.
But life is a race. The winners are set apart from the losers by a couple of things: excellence and perseverance.
But it never hurts to dream big, nonetheless. It all starts from there anyway.
What is your larger-than-life dream? Are you on your way to achieving it?

i did not experience living on my own, and wished i had. our family's poor and i have to work, when i was younger, for the family. it would be so selfish to live on my own that time when everybody seems to be relying on my earnings. but it is such a waste.

sorry, about this comment. i opened both of your discussions and placed this comment supposedly for the other one.
anyway, i have a dream not larger than life but i think it is worth aspiring for. i had been working as employee in companies for more than two decades now. it is my dream to have my own business, and be the boss. it is so tiring to work with people that can be pains in the a**! it can get so frustrating working with people who see things on a different view.

re: putting the reply to the other thread here: no prob, really. :)
About being underprivileged, though, I guess it's a matter of perspective. Living alone doesn't necessarily mean you're more financially fluid. Personally, I don't consider myself well-off. There were days when I could hardly pay the rent and there were days when I couldn't even eat. But I prefer that to being dependent on my parents.
As for dreaming of owning your own business: go for it! That's certainly a good dream. :) This country sure needs more entrepreneurs. :)
Blessings to you and your fam, Bing. :)

According to me " we should dream to achieve our goal in our life ". Only dream can give the picture of the scene after achieving our goal and makes us to hardwork to acheive our goal.

Ahh yes, creating a vision so that we have something to reach for. True. Unless you have a clear picture of where you're going, you may lose focus and get discouraged. But if a dream is burning in your heart, it is easier to reach for it and work hard for it. Keep dreaming, Vasumathi! :D

I do have a dream but it is not larger than life. I am sure I can reach it if i give it my all and am working hard on it. Hope I have the luck and skills to reach it soon. Can't wait
