As a student, it is my student to be present in school every schooldays. I should be attentive in class ad I should listen to discussions.
But, even if those are the responsibilities that a student should be playing, we really are happy when classes are suspended. Well, generally I suppose, that students are happy when there is suspension of classes.
Well, I am really happy when there is suspension of classes. But not today. Our classes have been suspended and I've been hearing rumors that our school days will be extended -which means a shorter semestral break.

Hi mabeldaclan,
It's the universal fact that we love to bunk the classes as student and if the classes are suspended, there can't be anything better than that.
There is a valid reason for this, it's the quality of education that we get in these classes that keeps us away from daily classes.
Most of the so called teachers work in most of the institutes are teacher only for the name sake and they don't have knowledge and interest in teaching. That is why we feel bored with such classes.
I feel sad to know that your semester break will be reduced, I would suggest you to enjoy the time of practical exams as much as possible, let's hope the semester gap will be more in next semester for you.

Some subjects are really boring and even the way how it was taught. Its like a lullaby that makes you sleepy as you listen to it.
I just wish they can devise some way to make learning more fun (though I'm already a college student).
The sem break? I don't think they have plans of extending it next semester. I think that they will stick to the school calendar.

Hi mabeldaclan,
Just to let you know, I used to be the expert in sleeping in my classes, now-a-days, whenever there is a meeting at my office, I sleep in front of everyone and no one has a clue that I am sleeping.
These conventional methods are old now and equally boring, one should change it before these things affect our growth in future.
As far as boring subject is concern, I have a different point of view, I believe it all depends on the teacher, if the teacher has the knowledge and the interest in teaching, you will learn anything.
E.g. Check this video and decide yourself if you can understand the topic:

I'm still a student, in my senior years right now in high school and I love it when classes are suspended. When my teachers have a strike or teacher's meeting for a whole day, everyone gets excited just to have one day off of school. Of course I should be doing my own studies at home but the computer and television is just too tempting just right there in front of me But extended classes? I would die! I have to attend 6 hours of class every week day and to have my classes extended and shorter breaks!? If that happened, all the students would protest in the streets! You can't take school breaks from students!

Yes! They can't take away school breaks from us. Long live the students!
And to add to that, general assemblies and general meetings. Then, when its school time again and the teachers ask if we studied our lessons, we would lie by saying that we did (while in fact, we didn't.LOL).

hi there mabeldaclan,
i understand your complaint. i just remembered during the time when i was still a student then. wherein i also loved those days that were being suspended. but, after that, i somehow dont want to spend an extended hours and days at school. as it will shorten the days of the much awaited vacation. as they keep on explaining on the students that due to the lost days of learning, the principal decision was to have a class day make-up. so as the student can cope up to the lost lessons. what to do, i was just a student during those times, so i need to follow everything since i believe, what they are doing during those times was for the benefit of every students studying at that school.

It is good to have makeup classes when the scope of the syllabus isn't done yet. But it is not so good to come to school for the makeup class when you are already done with all the lessons. And what you will do in the classroom is just to read your lessons and stare at your other classmates doing nothing or sleeping.

Everyone loves a good long break but I agree that I hate it when they extend school because of all the days off. That's one thing that I love in college because they don't really extend classes, they just move the schedules. :)

That's what usually happens, so, I don't like when the classes are suspended for a long period of time, because this always mean a short period of vacation at the end of semester. But, when it's only for a day or two, I'm so glad, because it's always good to have a unexpected break for relax.

hi mabeldaclan all students have to survive a very ruled, strict and disciplined routine that is why they start liking the suspensions because the suspended days of any school will be considered as unexpected holidays.....:-)....wow i love holidays and everyone does.............
but the reason behind the suspension is also important if it is somewhat which should not be....then we wont enjoy those suspended holidays to full extent....
well i hope a very long and enjoy packed break for you...:-)_

Well, I really can't enjoy the suspension because it was suspended due typhoon. I know that some places are really suffering and I can't go out because of the rain. I might as well consider this "unexpected holiday" to be a rest day.

When I was a student,I also got the same feeling that you have. I also enjoy classes being suspended because that only means that I can sleep at longer hours.
But there was a time when our class got suspended for a couple of days because of a typhoon, our school actually had their student come in to class on a Saturday. Imagine, most of my friends from different schools get to spend their weekend watching movies, hanging out in malls or out of town trips. But instead, I need to go to school, worst wearing our uniform on a weekend. But I guess for me i prefer it that way so that I will still enjoy longer vacation days.
