My quaral is... College football is something that, i think; we all can look at and say the game has been influenced and swayed by "money", just from a (AD) point of view... i mean (AD's) are constantly trying new things to fill there seats so it looks good on the "schools" behalf. Then again, the underlying story here could be the (AD's) trying to line his/her pocket a little bit just for the hassle of those particular deals and promises made to the high schoolers that are highly recruited... Now, look at the NFL the money is something that everyone knows influences the game just because, some maybe even most players are looking at the game as... "Time to go to work" this is not how we raise our kids in the sport or coach our kids in the sport of football... i mean they are taught the fundamentals, and the basic rules of the game til' they are old enough to start making their own skills better, and then and only then can one say they love football enough to go through the mello-dramatics of trying to be recruited, or trying to take a walk on position then they have a college career whether its long or short they start thinking NFL and "BIG BUCKS" then some maybe even most lose their eye for the game for the dollar signs blinking and shaking in their face and people trying to get their name on the line. Once the line has been signed they then start thinking, "I have a job, and its football" then they start losing the drive and ambition of being the best player possible just for the sake of making a few more 0's on the next check... This discussion will be continued

Personally I think the money in college football is more powerful than that of the NFL. We have already seen that you can spend as much money as you want in the NFL, and that doesn't buy a championship. But, in college football, many believe (myself included) that money and ignoring NCAA regulation has bought championships (look at Auburn last year, and Ohio State). Ohio State is a perfect example of this, you had a coach that received D's on his yearly review from his compliance department, but received huge raises because he won. You are correct that the NFL is about being a job, and making money. But, if you don't know that going into it then you won't last long. People put emotions into it because these are teams that they follow their whole life, but the players names change, and the players and fans need to understand that. It is no different than when you work for a company, if the company is run well, than the people in it are interchangeable. The NFL is talking to players now, and getting them to understand that it is a business, and the NFL stands for Not For Long.
