So, I know there is a bunch of 'free' website creators like Wix or Webs, but I'm wondering: How do sites like Facebook or Youtube get started? They are websites, so those that mean that originally they were created with Wix or Webs? I find this rather hard to believe, so I'm wondering how this actually works.
Just being curious! Thanks!

Both websites you are talking about were started by their owners hand coding them. Yes, Wix and Webs will not be a way to create a professional grade site. You would need to buy a domain and hosting account for that. You can also decide on if you want to use a content management system or not. It really will depend on what you want to do with your website first. Once you know how it will run, you will then need to hire a designer or learn how to build it yourself.

Hi viner,
Of course it in not created thru Wix or Webs because those are sites that enables you to make a blog or website in an instant. Meaning, you don't need to learn extensive HTML or programming for you to have your own website or blog, like the one you make in Wordpress or Blogger. Youtube and Facebook are created from scratch, you must be excellent in HTML and computer programming and website development. Plus, you must have an idea about computer softwares, coding, etc.
