Well, i have a garden with several flowers and i take care of it along with my mom. There are some villagers and strangers who often pluck my flowers even bud without any reason. Days ago, a villager mom having a kid on her arm plucked a flower from my garden to make her kid satisfied. When i saw and asked the reason, she answered that her kid loves my flowers and i think this was not the first time that she plucks flowers from my garden. There are some persons who often pluck flowers from other's garden and place them on their home on a flower vase. Do you do that? I mean are you interested in plucking flowers...... How do you cope with them who pluck steal) flowers from your garden? I do remember that when i was a kid ( 8 or 9 years), i blowed my father for plucking a flower( Nyctanthes Arbar-tristis).

This tree blooms profusely and the flowers also drop on the floor. You should not worry when these flowers (or was it just one flower?) are plucked. I have a garden too and the only flowers that passers by have access to are shoe flowers. I have several varieties and although I do not like when these flowers are plucked I do not say anything. They normally pluck them and offer them to their deity. When I mentioned this to someone the other day I got a pleasant reply in that, this person said that although the one who plucks my flowers offers them to their deity that I will get the benefit!

I have no complain who pluck flowers to offer them to deity even they ask me or mom before entering to my garden. But there are some nasty persons who pluck and after smelling, just throw it away.... You know i take care of them more than myself. So, when i see my flowers scattering in petals infront of my gate... makes me really worried. Have a nice time.

You never talked of petals being strewn in front of your gate. That ofcourse should not be tolerated.

When the flower is offered to kid later he scatters it on all the road. Daily more than 20 flowers are sacrificed.

My neighbor has the same problem. I have never taken flowers from other peoples' gardens as my mother taught me that it is stealing. She also said that when the flower is picked and taken inside only one or two people can enjoy it. I have a fenced yard so it is no problem to me. Can't you put a fence around your garden? It's a shame that people are so inconsiderate and immoral. Your avatar is scary.

I have fence but there are some big plants which branches are leaning outside of fence and anyone can easily pluck and naughty village boys use long sticks to pluck. I think i should adopt a dangerous dog. Have a nice time.

I don't pick flowers on someone else's garden. It is not appropriate to do that. Some parents don't know that, that is why they allow their children to pick flowers from neighbors. But it should not be right, they have to teach their kids that it is not good to do such.

I am also interested n plucking flowers when i was a kid and nobody see me. but when i grew older need to get first the permission of the owner before picking flowers. if she allow i would be very thankful. i know it so hard to grow beautiful flowers especially if you work hard to grow them. if she constantly do it better reprimand them or put a slogan such as do not pick flowers so she get reminded you never like them to pick your flowers.

When I was a kid, I did so, but not when I grew up and got to know the protection of flowers that brings beauty to us. I love flowers and do not pluck flowers. I even grew some sunflowers in four small flower-pots on my balcony outside my apartment on campus. Those flowers are nice and pretty. They bloom in the morning and fade in the late afternoon when the sun sets in the west. Now I have a small kid and teach him to take care of flowers without plucking them. We need to teach our kids to take care of flowers and plants when they are at a young age. It works. Have a good day.

I have some claps fro you coz you have taught your kid not to pluck flower, instead of it, we should plant. It really brings immense change on nature and our surrounding. As you have said, you have some sunflowers on balcony. Just feel when you drink you first cup coffee of the day watching them, is not it make your the new day colorful? i do hope. Have a nice time.

That takes a lot of nerve! No, I would not pick flowers from someones garden no matter how beautiful that I think they are. Like you said, it's stealing. I remember once while we were walking, my daughter reached over and plucked a flower from this man's garden. I spoke to her about it and hoped no one had seen. Oh he saw it. He caught up to us and had a little chat with her about it and why it was wrong for her to pick it. She was about 5 and felt really bad even though he was kind. I think hearing it from someone other than me had a greater impact on her. She never did it again. If I want flowers in a vase, I pick wild flowers.

Yes, I did feel bad. And do you know that the guy picked my daughter a bouquet of flowers and handed them to her as we were passing by one day. He understood that she loved his flowers but I also think he appreciated that I supported him in that it was not ok to just pick them. The person who takes the time to grow those flowers gets to choose their destiny.

The person realized that its neither your fault nor your baby's and thats why he presented that bouquet. If you said nothing to her at that time then he would frustrated and your kid will not get that present.

Yes friend. Its always make me angry when i see my blooming flowers missing from branches. Sometimes i find my flowers are tortured by villagers or passers and petals are lying on the gate or road. I know that little kids are always fond of flowers and its not their guilty but their parents should not influence them by offering flowers. its a bad habit that i have mentioned in my discussion. I know you felt bad and its natural. Have a nice time.

Well shibham, i do not have a garden because i live in a flat and the only gardens in our area are the public gardens.Even if i had one i always prefer to admire the flowers while they are blooming on the plants and would not pluck them or allow anybody to pluck them either.Like us plants and the flowers are also living creatures and the moment we pluck flowers we are killing them.People say what is the use of flowers if they are not plucked.People use them for various purposes, like self decoration, offering to gods in temples, for worship, etc but i believe firmly that the place of the flower is on the plant and nowhere else.

Hi veejay... I am agree with you. Flowers on bucket is less charming than flowers on plants. May someone pluck flowers to offer in temple, i have no objection but when someone do it without any reason, really makes me angry as i know how much i have to spend time for them. have a nice day.

So far, i never have this courage to pluck flowers from other people's garden without permission. Most of the time, i prefer to plant my own flowers, to decorate my home. Don't you install any iron grill with a gate, to prefer them to pluck your flowers without your permission? I always prefer to plant my flowers within my own compound, so no one allow to pluck them without my permission. My flowers is one of my private property, too.

So, that's the picture of your garden. Very lovely garden. No wonder it makes those nature envy people get the interest to pluck your flowers. Seems like, you will need to build much taller grill with gate in future, to discourage them from plucking your flowers.

Hiya shibs, Before where I lived we had wild Roses briar Roses climbing all over the wire fence and hanging outside of the Fence. Now People passing by just normally used to stop and admire them without taking away any of the Flowers. I would not have minded like you say if they use the Flowers for a purpose. One Day I was outside by the Garage waiting for our Car to come out from the Ramp and a Man quite a tall Man plucked a nice piece of Branch off the plant itself which had about three or four nice Roses on and gave it to a Lady who was with him on his Arm. I did not mind this as I think he did that with a lot of thought and as an act of kindness. Well I thought someone does like the Flowers after all and she seemed to be happy enough holding on to them carrying them in her hand down the Street. The Man did not realize that they were our Roses which of course do not exist anyway anymore as that side of the Garden like I mentioned ages ago was being ripped up and turned into concrete. Only Roses left now are ones on the other side of the Garden and they are much too high to reach as you would need a Ladder to get at them and not everyone walks down the Street with a Ladder do they? Actually I would have willingly give some of those pieces of Rose Bush away so that they could grow somewhere else but alas I did not have time anyway to do so so they were all pulled up. Such a shame too and your Flowers are beautiful Shibs those are really nice but if someone picks them up and uses them for a purpose must give you a good feeling about it surely.xxx

Hi angel... Now i am missing my garden as you know that we have shifted to town from village on last 9th February. Now as it is a dry season, i am not to plant flowers now but i will when rain will drop. I had several flowers on my garden and now i have heard that the family who has bought our house has completely cut the flowers to plant some vegetables. It has made me worried as i collected those indigenous flowers from various places when i toured around my province. I told them that i will replant them on my garden but that nonsense fellow did not listen to me. have a nice time.

Hiya shibs, You are bound to miss your Garden but you can recover them surely you can. It will Rain pretty soon I am sure we are due for a Week of mixed Weather and the Weather has gone really cold again in the Afternoon with some drops of Rain but not enough as this is very very dry they have been months and months with no real Rainfall. I wish I could put some Flowers in but I will have to wait quite a long time by the looks of it but you can recover some of your Flowers I reckon. Hope you manage to recover some of them.xxx

I hate when people do that Shiby. We made sure to fence the whole yard, so no idiot can pinch our flowers. If they want flowers, they can go buy freaking plastic once, at least that will keep longer.

The flowers are not your property, I don't think you should pluck some esle's flowers. The flowers look much prettier when it's still on it's stem attached to the plant. Once you pluck it and admire for a bit, you'll either throw it away or it will eventually wither. I have roses in my front yard and luckily it's inside my hedges so if someone decided to prowl into my front yard I will know so no one tries to pluck my roses. But really, you spent all that time looking after your beautiful flowers only to have some random person luck it's beauty away. Next time put a warning sign there It's alright to pluck flowers from the park but plucking flowers from a home isn't right. That person could have spent hundreds on that plant.

I love gardening too, especially flowering native plants. It is quite rude to take flowers from peoples gardens without asking permission. I have never done this. I can understand other people liking your flowers and it is good that others enjoy them.Where I have moved to now, the shrubs have only started flowering. I dont think anyone takes them as they are not the kind poeple put in vases. So I haven't realy had your problem. At my previous house, some of the kids in our street would take flowers, and if I caught them, I would tell them off.

This is just so wrong shibby and if someone stole my flowers from my garden I would be very angry. If they were hanging over my fence onto public property then I guess that might be a different situation. If they came into my yard to steal something, then they are trespassing as well. Setting up and maintaining a garden is very expensive and a lot of hard work and it's just wrong for people to take things...in my opinion, they should not even ask you...that is bad manners.

So, i am thinking to treat them by owning a crazy dog. Have a nice time tickle.

These people are wrong to pluck the flowers with out first asking you. But did you know that when you pluck the flowers, the energy that would have gone into the plant will be used to help the plant inother ways. For example, if a person wants to grow large pumpkins, they will only let one or two flowers mature into the fruits. They will keep all of the other flowers plucked so that the energy will go into growing the one or two pumpkins that they want to grow large. And in this manner when they pluck the flowers, if they do it righ, it will encourage more flowers to be grown on that plant. They should still ask if they can pick the flowers though.

Hi... i also do the same. Each flower plant has its a season of blooming out and i follow it. In off season, i cut some branches of plants so that the rest branches can grow up easily with proper energy and flowers also can bloom seeming big one. Its better if we follow the nursery system and plantation. Have a nice time.

My Dancing Lady - Please no picking of flowers.
I understand your feelings. I also do have a flower garden and would not anyone to pluck flowers without permission. I can't do that because I know the owner of the garden cherishes the flowers just as I do. I myself do not pluck the flowers of my garden unless they are already withered. I don't think it is right to get flowers from someone's garden so that your child could play with it. Flowers are not toys after all.
