A generous man who does not wish to be identified leave the money of 10 million yen, or about USD 1.17 billion in a public toilet, for people with disabilities in the shopping center Sakado, Japan.
Amount of money wrapped in a plastic bag and discovered on 22 September. Stacks of money is accompanied by text message that reads, "I am alone. I have no future so let citizens Tohuku using this money."
Tohuku is the region of northern Japan is rocked by earthquakes and tsunamis in March. Sakado officials said the generous gesture was not detected.
wow...whats happen with his mind??
if you become him, do you think you want to do like him??

Hi adhyz!
I think this is suspicious. I mean, the source of the money is suspicious and so is the man. I mean, he can still have his anonymity by donating the money through proper channels. I am sure there are designated bank accounts where people can donate money for the victims of earthquake in Japan and I'm sure one can deposit money to it without specifying their name or something.
But then again, he might just felt the money was so heavy so he just left it somewhere.

Well if im that rich, i will definitely share my blessings to the less fortunate citizens. As they say, you cannot bring your wealth when you die.

I think this guy must have lost a lot to be so depressed that he did that. It's too bad that no one could talk to him and find out why he felt so alone. I'm sure that the people of that community will always appreciate what he did. Thanks for sharing! Happy thanksgiving!!!

It really is a good thing that he did. I just was thinking about him as a person. The fact that he donated anonymously is impressive. Have a great weekend!!

Hi adhyz: I think it's simply wow. A really interesting story. I don't know why this person does it but probably because he/ she wanted to give part of their money back to the people that are in need and in fact he/ she has thought that with all that money you have the power to make a change and that's what this millionaire has tried to do without even caring to people know his/her name. I think it's great. I just hope this money that has been donated would be used for good and to help the victims that really need it.

130,450 US dollar, not 1.17 Billion.
1.17 billion USD = 89.6895362 billion Japanese yen
It is a weird place to have dropped in on a toilet but oh well, maybe that guy didin't want his name to get known and who knows it might have been a criminal that feels sympathy for the victims.

of course it`s weird place fo putting much money in toilet..
i just think that he had no idea where he want to put all his money..
it`s impossible if he must put his money in police office..
and he thinks maybe many people always come and go in toilet..

Yes, i agree with the rich man's intentions. IF he has nothing to live for, no future, he should donate all his money to those who needs it. However i don't agree with his actions. By leaving his money in the toilet in this way, it might be stolen and be used by some others who has the intention to keep for themselves. Luckily majority of japanese are helpful and knowing what's wrong, in the end the money was rightfully returned to the owner.

this is called a true philanthropist. Giving without having to announce what has been given. I always dreamed to do something like that and I think it's much more noble

Well that proves that money cannot buy happiness. I'm very grateful for him to do that. Helping other people gives us joy and peace in our heart. If I had that kind of money I will surely give to the poor. Not by giving them money but giving them job to live. In this way, I will help them in long term manner. I hope that lots of rich man donate or give much money to the poorest of the poorest in order for them to have good future.

Wow that is really very generous of him. And having not announce it to the media that he is donating a big load of money means that he really wanted to help. I admire people like that. I admire them more than those people who wanted media to be present when they donate money to institutions. I sometimes feel that they are just doing it for fame.

Most people have the notion that rich people are selfish, arrogant and wouldn't share their money. But from the incident, I can say that we should stop doing stereotyping or making generalizations about other people. The incident only tells us that there are still kind-hearted people left in the world :)

Wow. That was really generous of him. I think there are people out there who would donate a lot of money to those who need it more. And people like these usually don't want to be identified and prefer to remain anonymous so that they wouldn't have to bother with reporters and questions from others.
There was a story going around online once. One friend asked another: "If you could give up half your life to get any amount of money you wished, would you do it?" The friend answered, "Yes I would. I wouldn't mind giving up half of my life to get millions of money which I can donate to all those who need it. I probably wouldn't be able to help as many people then as I would if I'd lived out my whole life."

I think that this is a wonderful story, and it is one that many people should read and take notice of. I think that it is very important for people to try to help other people when they can afford to do so, and this story is very heartwarming as it is a case of people who have actually managed to do that. I have a short list of charities that I would very much like to donate to if I were given the opportunity to do so, however I don't even have enough money for myself at this moment in time, never mind enough to be able to donate to a charity as well.

Hello adhyz82!
I think this man is really generous and I admire him for being brave enough to let go of his money and leave it so it would be of use for the many. But he should have sent it directly to an institution that can make the money be more useful. What if the person who got it didn’t have a good heart to share it? Good thing the money is in good hands now and the people are benefiting from it. Kudos to the guy and I hope he find his peace. Anyway, if I have more than enough, I would also share something so it would benefit the less fortunate.
Happy mylotting and happy earning! red_amethyst

Is this from a news' article?
Assuming if this person is like Mr Burns (from Simpsons) who ages somewhere in his/her 60s. This person may have a terminal disease, so lots of million yens or dollars would not mean anything for him. It could be that this person is having a depression. Natural disasters like the recent earthquake could have some emotional impact on different individuals. The note may indicate this person is feeling depressed or having a terminal illness or it could be anything.

I will not leave it just like that, I want to see that it will really be given to the people he wanted to be benefited with it. However, he may have stricken with so much loneliness that he did such thing, there are so many ways to completely satisfy oneself using the said amount and at the same time be generous not only to others but with yourself also. His future is his helping hand and he will never be alone doing charity works that for sure will give him company, and his good deeds will give him peace for his own satisfaction.

If I were like him I would not do it the same way. If you leave a bag with money somewhere it will surely not be given to the people who need it.
The police will come, they have to find out if the money isn't stolen etc.
There are enough ways to donate money. And if I had no future and wish someone else had one I would pick out the people out myself and give them a future that way.
Help organisations keep too much money themselves and they seldom reach the people who need it the most.
