Off the grid, and all that stuff...

For some time, the idea of being "100% off the grid," or as close as I can come, has had it's appeal. I read about various things on the web, and in "alt news," like Tampa Bay's Creative Loafing, Colorado Springs' Independent, and the OC + LA Weekly. There are those individuals who have co-ops, hostels, and such things. There's those who have everything they want, totally solar powered, or otherwise not relying on hardly any "government sanctioned power." I have become one of those, esp in recent years, that questions, well, everything. Why should the hard work I'm doing, be taxed, and I get nothing from the corrupt "leaders." I REFUSE to accept or "be content with the way things are, because that's how it's always been, and always will." I constantly hear that Social Security won't be available for me, which in turn, means it won't be for those "somewhat younger than me." So, why are the bas----s STEALING our money?!? I also hate how businesses hire people to be "independent contractors," so that THEY don't have to pay taxes on us, meaning that WE, the ones who do the dirty work, and keep their business afloat, have to pay out more of our proverbial blood and sweat. This is one of many reasons I support the Congressman from Texas, Ron Paul. He wants to do away with the IRS, income tax (we didn't need it for the 1st +100 years of this country!), and if you have a job where ya earn tips, you can KEEP IT, and don't have to pay taxes on it! Of course, things like the "main stay" members of Congress redo his district, maybe even trying to "draw him out of power." The only other, that I only basically know, to be on a similar page in his son, Rand Paul. He wanted to end, or at least heavily modify, the (UN) "Patriot Act." Course, that didn't happen. Every now and then, I hear of some "freshman politician" wanting to, but they're overwhelmed...or burnt out. Very intense. Which brings me to my next issue. Cops, aka, the modern ratzi Stormtroopers (I don't put that in quotes, because I know that too many of the ARE). Why the HELL do these bas----s NEED to FOOTBALL TACKLE ONE MAN! These are government GANGSTERS, LITERALLY! Why do these prix need to HIDE, to catch people doing minor infractions? Here's a thought: we always hear about how the various local governments need to generate revenue. Look, across the board, at how much a speeding ticket is (esp with speed traps), and many of the other things, that the sole purpose is to bring in money. Now, consider the cops ACTUALLY doing their job, TO SERVE AND PROTECT THE PUBLIC INTEREST! Maybe if they actually did that, crime wouldn't be so high. But then, to house the offenders of REAL crimes, the gov would spend money, not make it! Hide like thieves behind trees, or in unmarked cars! I was under the impression that unmarked cars were when cops had to go into a dangerous area, or at least, didn't want people to know cops were coming. So, why use it for something as petty as a speeder, other than to install uncertainty of Big Brother, with his ratzi Stormtroopers, ARE watching you, and are more concerned about MAKING money, then going after the ones who somehow loose nearly $9 BILLION in the Middle East. Why the HELL aren't people rioting in the streets? Or, at the very least, doing like the 1960s, and marching on DC, and every state capital, and city hall, across the US??? $9 BILLION, lost and unaccounted for! $4 TRILLION given to FOREIGN BANKS! Going into Libya, which the US has NO BUSINESS, WHATSOEVER. In under 4 months, $750 MILLION, tossed! How many wages could *that* have covered? How many benefits could that provide for? Forget raising the debt ceiling! Get out of the Middle East, IN FULL! TAX GE, who paid nothing! DON'T GIVE $3.2 billion in returns to them, either! Say deal with BP, filing $10 BILLION! But, for one reason or another, there just doesn't seem to be enough who care... 12/21/2012. The main thing I've seen are refs to Mayan Prophesies, although I've seen some refs to beliefs of the Hopi Native Americans, as well. On the flip, I've heard about Nostradamus, having predictions in the mid-late 3000s; almost want to say 3300s or 3700s...It's not so far away. Maybe something huge will happen with the planet. Maybe the problems the maniacs are putting into the planet will come to a head: the Gulf Oil Spill; Japan's Fukishima Nuclear plant is STILL putting out radiations, from the little I know; there's at least 1 nuke plant in Nebraska, and some of its "spent uranium" has been in a flood, leaving concerns about it getting into various ground water. Maybe more controls will be enacted. Government demanding keys to private property. Being illegal to film cops on *public streets;* so that we can't show a "Rodney King" type issue...and no one seems to care, or at the very least, willing to put themselves at risk, to make a change. Which brings back to "living off the grid." I recall reading some (nigh) homeless people, or "free-livers" who live "as is." With all of the big companies wasting stuff, throwing away tons of otherwise good stuff, food wouldn't be too hard, once that is gotten over. Then, the idea of living in a "communal farm," where people get together, to eat, work the land, and enjoy their lives, away from the troubles of the world, has it's own pluses...but to truly be free? Maybe, like some movies, to be a part of "the bad lands," just to be free of the greedy "governmental" control, and for those who stand in their own "collective," to turn back any possible "brigadiers..." It's a concept I've been thinking a lot of, the last 4 years or so. Off the grid, responsible only for oneself, and those of like-mindedness, for their common good...leaving behind petty wars, political fighting, and other such BFS. A dream, to say the least. A reality..?
