Do you hold grudges?

Honestly, do you feel any grudges or resentment right now towards anybody in your life? If yes, why? One point in my life I was really full of resentment towards this someone in my life. But as the years went by, I learned to let go and let God. My anger towards that person was just kept hidden inside me, until one day I poured everything to God and prayed that whatever that I've felt back then be totally gone. Now, do I still feel it? Once in awhile for a different people, yes. Then after three days it will be gone. Its unhealthy to hold grudges specially if its for a family member or relative. Unhealthy physically and spiritually. What to do with it? Just pray and leave everything up to Him.

I used to hold grudges with little kids that everyone in my family used to pay more attention to. I felt like I wanted to say something bad to them I couldn't because their parents and other grown ups where there sitting next to us. Now I say thank god I couldn't say anything to them because if I did, now I would be full of regrets. I still hold my grudges but that's if someone does something bad to me that I know I can't do nothing about it and seeing from that other person, he/she does it to take advantage of me knowing I can't do anything to him/her.

Like they thought us, "what comes around goes around" so that's why I don't do much to those who take advantage of me.

Friends remember one thing God is not blind, vengeance of God will be more severe than on what we can do about them....!!!!

I try not to be the kind of person that holds a grudge against somebody else. Life is too short and too precious to waste on such bitterness. I would like to be the kind of person that can resolve an issue and move forward with life.

That's my opinion too, let us help one another here so that anybody here who still holds grudges towards someone they know will eventually remove it.

Honestly, I do hold grudges in my heart towards my old friends. How I wish that I can no longer feel this anger in my heart. I do understand that it is wrong to hold hatred in our hearts and I'm struggling so hard to have this issue resolved. I'm still praying to God to help me forgive those people who have hurt me and for them to forgive me as well. How I wish I could forget all the hurts I have and live a happy and peaceful life.

If this will make you feel better, everyone holds grudges once in a while. I used to think that I am the most evil person on earth alive, just because of the grudge that I felt for a particular person. But then I realized that we are just human beings. We get hurt and we were built to get angry of something that hurt us. Its our defense mechanism so that we will not get hurt the most. But since we are human beings, we need divine intervention just to remove the anger that we feel. Prayers help a lot in melting this anger inside us. Spiritually, it's scary to hold grudges coz we never know when will our last day on earth be. Ever wonder why the title "The Grudge"?

who will not hold a grudge against people who plan evil against one? there are people just exactly like this, that because of envy, they will spread rumors, or character assassinate people. but then again, holding a grudge is counterproductive, and make one evil, too. i have to admit, i feel ill feelings towards these people but i pray for guidance, and that i can be able to forgive. i won't have to be affected and not move on with my life.

Yes, it is sometimes hard to forgive people who spread rumors because of envy. I encounter a lot of people like that in our workplace. But I pray so hard that I will not get affected by these people and pray for the protection of the holy angels and holy spirit so as not to be victimized by these people. Yes, prayers help a lot. I totally agree.

Sometimes, unfortunately, I do... Even if they are over minute things... but I've noticed that I hold the worst and longest grudges against my mother and against men I've dated that don't have the balls to end a relationship in a proper and dignified manner.

There were times in my life when I felt grudges against persons who left me,but that's all in the past now,as I realized that instead of wasting my energy on holding grudges I could use it in other ways, concentrating on what I have to do in the present and close future,so I don't hold grudges any more and even if there are moments when I feel offended by some people,I manage to get over my grudges and move on by simply not thinking about them anymore.Just like you,my resentments are gone in a few days and I manage to let it all go and focus on what I want to do.

Oh yes grudges, I go an all girl's school and the girls really know how to hold a grudge. Two very good friends actually fought about something and they both held a grudge for a very long time. It went for like a year! and I was stuck in between until I was so ed up with it and told them to just apologize to each other. I guess after a year, the grudges kinda grew old and they became friends again like nothing happened. I don't like holding grudges, if I did hold one, it'll probably last like a few days, not a year like my friends It's really unhealthy to hold grudges against someone, always talk and try and rebuild that trust. The longer the grudge, the more damages it does to your relationships.

Grudges are unhealthy to a person and to any relationship. Everyone may have tried getting angry to someone for once in their life. Whenever I get angry with someone, it usually lasts for hours or if not, a day. It's bad to hold a grudge. Yeah you're right. The best thing to do is to pray and lift everything up to God.
