Will you still go to work if you don't feel well?

I used to drag myself to work no matter what was wrong with me because I felt so guilty about staying at home. Now I am older and wiser(?) I look after my health and don't take any risks with my well-being or put others in danger. If you are really sick, but not ill enough to be hospitalised, you should stay at home so you don't spread germs!

I prefer to stay home and rest if I feel sick. When I was still working, my job required me to work 9 full hours, and even that is not enough to finish my tasks. So, I might get worst when I push myself to go to work when I'm sick.

Hi Jacruz!
If my sickness is just plain colds or coughs, I will still go to work. But if I have a fever, I will not go to work because it might get bad. I sometimes get tonsillitis or sore eyes or allergy attacks and I still go to work. But when I feel really bad, like the way I felt so heavy the other day, I go home and rest. There's just those days that you know you have to get rest and not risk it.

It depends on how poorly I feel. I wouldn't want to go, but I'd have to. Not only do I have to work to provide for my family, but my boss also relies on me to be there...especially on days when no one else is there. So, I'd have to be pretty bad off to not go in to work. I just hope that day never happens...

I guess it depends on the type of work you do and how sick you feel. I would not go to work with high fever because surely I´m carrying bugs that will hurt other people. But I would go to work with a common cold or a light stomach ache.

I prefer to keep on working even if I am not feeling well, but it is not because I am the workaholic style. If I stay at home for rest, most of my focus would be on my feeling. Time will go faster if I keep on working. I will take some pills and drink a lot of hot water. It may affect a little bit on my work, only if I can get up and arrive at the office desk, it would be fine for me.

I am on disability now and no longer work. When I did, I would go to work a lot of the times I didn't feel well. There are a lot of things to consider before taking a day off. The main thing is what kind of illness is it and what type of job do you have. If it is something viral and you work with the public, it is better to stay home. If you do take a day or two off, sometimes the work piles up while you are gone and it might be worse. Also you have to take into consideration if you need the money. If you get paid sick days that is no problem and your health is more important than money, but sometimes you need every penny you can get. If it is not something major a lot of times you feel ill in the morning and then improve as the day goes on.

I have low tolerance for pain. So, when I'm sick, I usually don't go to work. It's futile, anyway, because I won't be as productive. Besides, I value my health, too.

There was a time when i was too passionate for my job that i went to work even if i wasn't feeling well. I just feel sorry for my students who would be left waiting and not doing anything and missing a day without learning anything from me. I was too caught up with my obligations that i felt guilty not being able to do my job.
That was then and i have changed now.

I do actually, but it depends. If I do not feel well, I have to find out why I am not feeling well. Many times, I start out not feeling well, but in the late afternoon I am already recovered. As it turns out, I do not feel well because of the pressure of not being able to finish my work. However, if I do not feel well because I am really sick of some infectious diseases, then I would not go to work so others will not get infected by me.

It would depend on if I were really sick or just not feeling like working. If I wasn't throwing up or having diarrhea I went to work. I didn't have the luxury to lay out of work just because I don't feel good. I rarely feel good but I still have a good work ethic.

I will not go of course. Because I don't have the mood if that would happen then. I will not risk a day to get my health get worse. And I also don't waste my time working but end up not enjoying what I'm doing. I may risk a bad impression on my boss and most especially I will just make my condition not so good. It's better to take a rest for awhile or better yet had my check up.

I think right now most people go to work. Right now, people go to work, more because they fear losing their job or need the money to pay bills. The companies do not think anything about getting rid of you, there are so many more that would like to take your place. If I am able to, I would stay home.

It all really depends on how bad I actually feel. Normally I do go to work, I prefer not to take days off unless it is necessary. If I feel horrible with a fever you bet I won't be going in to work, but if it's just a cold and medicine makes it a bit better that I could function properly, then I won't stay home. Health is important and is definitely a priority, but the way the economy is I feel it is necessary to take care of my job as well and not take advantage.

Well, sometimes I have no choice if my deadline really close or there was any crucial meeting with client. However, I prefer to stay at home if in normal working condition or I could not get up from the bed. I am lucky to have understanding superior who always give me a chance to do that.

We should also think of others that they might catch the same sickness being the carrier of the virus, however if not infectious

We should also think of others that they might catch the same sickness being the carrier of the virus, however if not transferable, still we need to have a rest so that it will not worsen our condition. However,if they are really that workaholic, they can rely on their laptop or computer to go on with their job but in the comfort of their own home that they can rest from time to time far from pressures of working environment.

It depends if we're talking stomachache or headache then I take a swig of pepto or and Advil and still make my way in to work. If I have the flu then forget it I'm not going any further then my couch. Its not just a case of making sure I get better but I don't want to spread what I have to others. I work in a tight area with alot of people if one person has it then we all get it.
