I have always had dogs, and once in a while cats, but my most unusual pet is my greenwing macaw. He is a lot of fun, is a good bird, is hand tame, and he talks!
What is the most unusual or peculiar animal you have ever owned? Tell us a little about this pet.

i never had a pet other than dogs, dogs and dogs. But im always happy when i see them and when they wag their tail when i just arrive from school. I love teasing my dogs, tickling them hear and there, lifting them up (well i only lift the little ones or the puppies ) and playing fetch :)) im really fond with dogs more than any animal

There's no other creature on earth, human or animal, that welcomes you home like a dog does.
Wow did I just make a new classic quote?

Dogs sure are wonderful. I have two right now - Ginger the poodle and Maynard the terrier mix. They are both very dear to me and each has his/her own personality. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a dog around, they are such great companions.

Dogs are really Man's best friend. Especially you take very good of them. My Parker wags his tail when I arrived and if it wasn't his arthritis on his hind leg, he would jump over me as if he was very happy to see me.

Now Gama has become an old man and limps around. I do physical therapy on him every day!but he still loves to crow with all his might. For him the sun rises every two minutes!

It sure sounds like you have been good to Gama over the years. It's nice that you have enjoyed such a nice pet rooster. I hope Gama has several more years to share with you.

Thanks for sharing that nice video of your very handsome Gama rooster! I used to have chickens and forgot until you mentioned this! The one that lasted the longest was a Rhode Island Red hen. She was very tame and loved to sit in your lap and get petted. A friend of mine came up with the name for her and she was known for years as Shake n Bake!

The strangest pet we ever owned would have to be a guinea pig, I guess.

My sister had guinea pigs once when we were kids. That didn't really work out too well as I recall when the babies were born. We ended up finding them a home I think.

probably the most unusual was my tarantula I had when I was about seven. for a young girl, that's an unusual pet.
the ferrets were a LOT of fun, and not many people tend to have them.
stick insects, in one way quite unusual, but most children in my school had them after one person had them and they bred. they were selling the babies for 20p each, and as they're so easy to look after, they were popular.
still, considering SOME people are even surprised that I have pet rats, which I have never considered unusual (in fact, I think they're one of the best and most rewarding pets you can have) I suppose the others will be completely out there for some people.

You definitely go in for the exotics! That's an unusual bunch of pets, but it sounds fun! The ferrets are illegal to own in the state of California, but I know that some people do own them illegally and they really like them.
When you mention stick insects, is that what we call the preying mantis? They are sure a beautiful insect.
Now rats, that's just something that I couldn't handle, as I continually fight a mouse problem out here in the country. I do know that some people really do love their rats!
Would love to hear more from you!

My two Roborovski hamsters. I called them mini mini hamster because there were so small. I liked them so much. They made my days more happier. They were always joy to watch. They were animals just to watch not to touch as they hated to be taken. But they like to watch us as well and interact with us. I miss them so much. They live only two years and they left emptiness in my life.

That's a long name for a little hamster! Sounds like they were very cute and fun to have around. You should get more - why not get more so you can continue to enjoy?

That is a really long breed name. Cute personal names. Due to the ski at the end of the Roborovski - is it Polish?

I have three dogs recently but two of them has the strangest move I have ever seen. First is Elissis. She loves lying around on her back and shows her private part which is so funny to look at. She can lie there for a few hours!
Next is my favorite dog, Parker. He look so adorable because he's so big with short legs. He is the most strangest pet I've ever owned because he stick to the walls and stay there for a long period of time. If I try to move him, he sulks himself until he lies himself down. One time it was a rainy evening and his spot was almost wet, I tried to move him to another spot yet he refused. I have no choice but to leave him there. It was so funny and cute as well. The next strangest thing he did is that he's the only one scratching our other pet's back.
I saw them like that most of the time, and it was very funny and very unique too.

Sounds like two very spoiled dogs! They certainly know how to relax that's for sure. I have never seen one dog scratch another dog's back - that would be amazing.

That sounds really cute! Almost sounds like one of them is a poodle - I have one and they are really smart. Is there any poodle in any of your dogs?

He does it most of the time and I found it very cute.I called Parker as their official backscratcher. My housemate told me she saw Jewel, my other dog approached and poked him as if she want something from him. The next thing she knew, she saw Jewel lie in front of him and start scratching her back!

I have had hermit crabs. They are fascinating to watch, the way they crawl around and hide.
I have also had pet mice, they are very cute and are so funny when playing on the toy ferris wheel.
My daughter had a tadpole once, that turned into a frog with three legs.
My ex had a dalmation that ate a sparkelr bomb once and had to be rushed to the vet.
My cat Scamper, when a kitten, crawled into my tent when I was rolling it up, and I didn't realise until it was completely rolled, and I saw a samll movement.

Wow, Jenny, you've had quite the experience with critters! The hermit crabs make me think of The Little Mermaid! Pet mice don't make me smile as I battle them on a regular basis, being that I live in the country. I'm sorry that the frog was deformed.
Where you speak of a dalmatian, I knew one that his owners called light-bulb as he ate a light bulb once. Maybe they are predisposed to eating all kinds of strange things.
It sounds like your Scamper was a clever kitty that may have gotten into many troubles!
Fun stuff!

One of the most unusual pets I've had is one of my current pets...a pet snake. It's the first time I've ever had one. My oldest son found him/her(?) the other day and we took him in. He was a little skittish at first, being a wild snake and all, but has come around really quickly.
He's interesting to say the least. And he's quite beautiful...for a snake. LOL Oh, and don't worry, he isn't poisonous! I made sure of that!
Happy mylotting!

The most unusual animal I've ever owned is a Chilean rose-haired tarantula named Rosemary. I've had her for about 10 1/2 years now. She's a very sweet and placid-natured spider and I like to pick her up and show her to people. Female tarantulas live about 15-20 years, so she's still got a while left in her.
