I'm down to 300 people's discussions in my email

I am really surprised that I let my discussions go unanswered for so long! I had moved all the discussions and digests into a separate folder because that way I could keep track of my inbox better. I would respond to comments and responses, but didn't bother with new discussions because I was tied up with school and then two weeks in NY following Irene. When I first went into that folder, there were over 400 discussions and digests, including some mails that included multiple discussions. When I finished tonight, I was down to 300. The earliest date now is Sept 2. I got through about two weeks worth of discussions over the last three days so if I keep that up, I should be able to be caught up in a couple of weeks. I don't necessarily respond to all of them, but I do want to get updated on all that I missed. I'm afraid that some of my responses might not be appropriate because the answers to the questions I asked were probably answered in later posts. If that is the case, please forgive me. I will continue to respond to comments and responses and responding to messages as I have time. Have a great week everyone!!!

Hiya Deb! Oh my when I went to Arkansas for 2 1/2 weeks I came back to 1600 new discussions. As you I get all notifications and did go through each one to determine if I can respond. This is why I enjoy myLot as there are not time limits as to when we can respond. You are doing great bringing them down to 300 and soon enough it will continue to increase, lol I would worry if I did not see the numbers increase, lol Best of luck and continue doing a great job here.

I think it is a matter of you have a lot more friends than I do so I would expect you to get more discussions. But when I consider that some of those emails have 2, 3, or even more separate discussions started the same day by that individual, it probably is more like 500-600 when I include the discussions in the digests. I responded to about 150 or so discussions over the last three days including responses to my recent posts. Thanks for the response! Have a great week!!!

I mostly look at all the discussions, but don't respond to most of them. I'm almost thinking I should turn off notifications to a lot of the people because their discussions are so...un-respondable. Sometimes, there is a gem in there and it would be a shame to miss that if I saw it. And I like to keep up on some of the things that I have been following with people even if it is now "old news". Thanks for the response!

I wish I could say that I am down to 300 in my Email. I know there are probably a lot of repeat discussions in my myLot folder that I have already answered, or would not be interested in answering, but I have a lot of friends that I am way behind on. It is interesting to try and catch up, but sure some people wonder why I am just now responding back to discussions that are around a yr. old.

I think if I was a year behind, I might delete some of the older ones unless they were from people that I actually knew. I am considering turning off notifications from some of the people who post the same kinds of messages over and over again since that is what makes up half of those that I receive. Leave only the people who I actually communicate with, you know? Hopefully you are able to catch up one of these days. Have a great week!!!

I get very behind, many times. I do try to read everyone's discussions even if I cannot respond. I am going to be sending you a private message shortly, though. Be on the lookout.

I do not have a response from you. So maybe you did not hit "submit" after you posted it.

I have no reason to be behind in my discussions, but I am. I don't think I have any discussions in my inbox more than two weeks old, but it's possibel there are a few from three weeks ago. I belong to Gather as well as Mylot, so I have a lot of notifications in my inbox. I try to respond to the ones I can.

Wow! Congratulations on reaching 20,000 posts! I hope that some day I will make it to that point. How long did it take to get to that point and how many posts do you do in an average day? Thanks for the response and have a great week!!!

You can always respond to your discussion when you have enough time to do so. It happens when we are busy offline and when we have time to mylot,we are surprised to see how many emails we have in our inbox. I always tried to respond back to my topic when I have time. Enjoy mylot and enjoy commenting back to all responses that you received. have a good day :)

When someone responds to me, I do get back much sooner than original discussions. I had almost fallen away again and I hope I never get to that point again. I have fun here and don't want to lose out again. Have a great week!!!

Welcome to mylot! I hope that you are able to have a lot of fun with this site and that you can start making money. Fun definitely comes first! Make sure you look at all the information of things you can and cannot do so that you don't get discussions deleted. If you post discussions, make sure you respond back to people. That is how you earn. It is also important to make sure that your responses and discussions are more than one or two lines. Have a great week!!!
