What is your worst day in dieting?

I always find that when I cut back on the food to lose those few extra pounds I have put on its DAY 5 which is the hardest day to cope with. DAY 6 is not quite so bad and then its plain sailing ish!!!!! Up to Day 5 is really easy for me to resist all the foods that I don't wish to eat etc. You would think that the first few days would be the worst and not Day 5. I can only put it down to the fact that all the rubbish has gone from my body and it is starting to crave those foods. So when you cut back or start a diet, which is your worst day?

i find dieting quite curious. I myself do some diets some then and now, but then I realize I steadily have gotten back to the old way of eating ! It's first a little piece of bread, then some pasta, tomorrow you have a fatty meal for "the old times", which become more frequent, and when you realise you are feeding yourself just as you used to ! I think dieting is only a way to improve your mental health than actually doing something for your body. I'm vegetarian though, and that's the only diet I have follow straight. I never eat not even a little piece of meat, not even in parties or vacations. I felt so good, and it's been more than two years since I started it. I love being veggie.

I don't like that word "dieting". Never have never will! I am morbidly obese and should lose some weight for a number of reasons. The older I get the harder it is to lose weight and easier to put it on! I don't want to put the work in to lose it and keep it off! I wish it was easy and I could stop worring about it so I can worry about the rest of the stuff in my life!

Oh boy do I agree my weight always used to increase over Christmas and the older I got the more went on and did not come off afterwards. I am 63 and this is my second year as an attending gym member, it was a suggestion of my doctor that I did not take on right away. I will say don't diet as such, just don't eat if you don't need it, decrease what you eat slowly and remember it's all in the mind. Walk more often and don't worry about weight just make yourself fitter. If you try to diet and weigh yourself often you will only be disappointed when you put weight on, DON'T DO THAT.

i do not do dieting since i have average body. but their are times i skip meal when i get so engrossed with my work that i forget the schedule time to eat. i only eat when i already feel hungry. being busy i tend to forget the time so for now i still coping to eat on time so that i would not get an ulcer. wish you all your luck n dieting and do not deprive you so much as too much dieting s also bad to your body.

I will admit I have been pretty good with my diet, normally after 5 days of not cheating I tend to treat myself and then go back to my dieting and eating healthy. For the worst time of not staying within my eating healthy habits has to be during that time of our month. I get the worst chocolate and sweet cravings that I can not resist. To me those are the worst days.

Oh, I can relate so much! I usually have the very difficult time with diet on the 3rd day. There I start to crave for food that I used to eat and temptations are everywhere. But the motivation on becoming slim is just there. I'm not that fat either but I'm alarmed with pounds I gained from being recently married. Hoping for all the best for us!

What keeps me motivated is the thinking of wearing my old clothes that I really love. And I have this motto: To look good is to feel good!

I've never dieted in my life. To lose weight, I'm getting off my bottom more and getting away from the computer. I'm trying to walk or do other exercise for half an hour or more every day. I'm also eating less. I can pretty much eat what I like provided it's a good balance - not too much of any one thing. I'm drinking lots of water too. So far, I've lost almost 9 kilograms.

I have never dieted so I guess if I ever did it would be the first day that would be worst! Right now I could lose a few extra pounds, but it is not a necessity and with cooler weather coming on it feels good to have some body fat. It is nice to hear that your experience is that after about a week it is not so bad. Just in case...

Yes dear I know these days! I think it's at weekends, when hubby is home all the time and keep insisting and even M-A-K-I-N-G foods that I know it's gonna change my weight, hahaha.

when i start dieting the second day is kinda tough cuz i start feeling hungry at times when i usually have snacks and start adjusting to the new routine but by the end of the day i survive and by the 5th day im on track but if chocolate is presented to me or is near me i kinda lose the battle by 10th day i get tired of dieting and eat something that im gonna regret later .thats pretty much my dieting circle

I don't diet but I'm careful what I eat. If I decide that I would like to eat some cake or other " forbidden" meals, next day I exercise harder than usual to burn all the junk.

Hi Anne I find all days are difficult but it's all in the mind. I sometimes find that I think I want something but I'm not hungry or thirsty. Drinking is something I do, usually coffee just for something to do. Cutting back is always something I do gradually, I love roast potatoes and have cut down from 4 to 3 on the Sunday roast and never on any other day.

Probably the day after my first post diet weigh in. If I've lost weight that week I'll be thrilled and think, oh I can afford a little extra. And if I haven't lost weight I'll think, why even try? Fortunately, I've gotten a tad more will power over the years.

Any day I can't eat what I want to is a bad day. The last time I was on a diet and working out was two years ago and I am through. I am retired, I don't want a man in my life anymore, have lived a good old life and I am not trying to diet or eat healthy. I really don't care anymore.

I guess you are right and day 4 or 5 have the tendency to be though whenever one is making changed to diet. I don’t believe in going on a diet as such, I prefer to make permanent changes that will ensure the weight does not creep back on again which is what I did recently losing 6 kilograms and keeping it off for over six months. Once I adjusted to the changes which took around a week, I began to see the weight come off and the motivation was there to continue down the path and regain my health back. Good luck with your dieting, I wish you success...

Hi Anne, Let's see. Which is my worst day when I am dieting? I really don't know for sure. I would have to go on a diet, or, I mean the next time I go on a diet, I will have to notice which day is the worst. All I know is that each time I diet, I do okay, but then I get off the diet and immediately gain back what I lost. Seems like I gain it back faster than I lost it. I need to go on one again, right now. I go to the VA tomorrow for an appointment, and they always weigh me. I usually try to diet before an appointment, but I slid by this time and didn't go through with it. Now, I fast every now and then. The very very worst day when I fast is the first. I sometimes cannot go through with the first day, because my head hurts so bad I cannot handle it, and food is the only thing that gets me through the excruciating pain.

I think your problem is going on a 'diet' period. Depriving yourself of your favorite foods will just sabotage you later on down the pike. I just eat smaller amounts of what I like. I eat 6 times a day and I'm losing fairly well. I've lost about 40 over the last year and have lost over 100 pounds over the last 10 years. I've had ups and downs over the years. But now I actually measure portion sizes listed as serving sizes on food. I also don't eat after 7 pm. I only eat at most 4 to 6 ounces of food at one time. So the calories I eat in the day are spread out over the day and nothing by mouth after 7.

The worst day of my dieting is that when there is someone celebrating on a occasion and great foods are served. Wanted to eat more and more but I have to limit myself because of my dieting. Too bad, but if i don't do that I know I am the one who will suffer for that consequences if I ate too much and go beyond my diet. But cravings should be satisfied sometimes.
