Well, for 12 years I did volunteer as an assistant girl scout leader and I tried to volunteer helping my neighbors, but they insist on paying me. Then another neighbor who had to get a job outside the home, I notice her dog is outside while she is gone, so I am thinking of volunteering to care for the dog, because when the weather turns cold, the dog will need to go inside.

I was never a girl scout, but was in blue birds one year, which is a part of CampFire group. I absolutely loved being involved with the girl scouts with my daughter though and felt is was over way too soon..

Well I'm a member of the Salvation Army and it seems all I do is volunteer. LOL I like it though. Let's see what do I do, help with the community holiday dinners, lead a group of girls grades 6th - 12th on Wednesday nights, local disaster relief I've done and some other things as I have time. I stay busy.

Thanks. It's more of a blessing to me because I like doing all of it.

I volunteered in a Nursing Home for 6 years, I found this very rewarding and I learnt so much from this experience. I am not a nurse or anything but I used to go to just keep the elderly company, I used to read to one man who taught me so much, and I used to take a couple of rabbits around to the residents to hold and in the football season I used to do footy Tipping with the residents, an experience for sure.

That is excellent. From time to time, when there is a need, I volunteer at the Community Centre of the community I am living in. There are many different activities the Centre do, and mostly I volunteer in organzing the different activities. I enjoy that very much, and feel happy to meet with the members of the community too.

Personally I don't volunteer that often, I have volunteered in Habitat for Humanity that last couple of years, in which I work for maybe two or three days. But with my schedule and family, I barely have any time for myself. I wish I could volunteer more but it is impossible.

Hi I love your discussion!
Well, I love doing volunteer work. I've been a part of mission programs in our church in a lot of times already. These were helping out with feeding programs, participate in medical missions, giving out food for the street children as well as bathe them, and visiting hospitals for the sick kids and give them happiness during Christmas. It makes me feel good and happy when I see them smile. God has been very good that he created me a passion of doing these things.

I honestly do not have the time to volunteer. I work seven days a week.

I volunteer too! I'm still a student in my senior year in high school and I volunteer occasionally to gain some experience once I leave school. Volunteering is a very good way to meet new people and gain some experience while you have fun. People would really appreciate how you're sacrificing your spare time and helping out with your free will for no money at all! I sometimes volunteer in school such as charity. Recently I was a volunteer for a charity called 40hourfamine. I had to collect money for the poor and hungry whereas I had to sacrifice something I use or need for 2 days. It was really fun and I did it with friends too! I also volunteered to work with people with a disability. It was a very rewarding experience.

I used to be an active volunteer. I wld want to be involved in volunteer work again, but probably not in the near future.
I used to be involved in Junior Chambers, raising funds for 2 charities. I was also involved in elderly work - visiting elderly folks staying alone in rented flats and serving them free meals every fortnight. My last volunteer work involved befriending young ex-offenders and visiting their families, as well as rendering whatever help they needed. For abt a yr, I regularly visited young offenders in prison, giving them the support they needed.

I also did some volunteering back in college, I found the experience enriching. But I'm really not a very philanthropic person, so I rarely have volunteering activities nowadays. Though I find museums fascinating, so if ever I will decide to volunteer, it would probably be in museums.
