about the gun of america

i am chinese guy ,and yesterday i meet two american boy ,more then 13years old .their father is our foreign teacher.and he say to me very pride ,"in american ,everyone can have a gun ,my father have three gun,its not dangerous "
i thought :"no dangerous ?" how yo guys think?
