Ever shoplifted?

When I was a little girl, probably about five years old, I stole a Chapstick from a store. I felt so bad about it that I told my parents. They made me take it back and apologize. I think I also got spanked. That was the last time I ever stole anything. Have you ever shoplifted? Did you get caught? What happened?

I didn't know you did that. Actually when I was I think 13 I went to a store with a friend who did it and she got away with it. I thought that was so cool that she got a new shirt for free. We went back to the store the next weekend and I did it too and got away with it. The store probably didn't have very good security. Then when we were visiting family in another state I tried to do it at a store there. I got caught and brought in to the security office. Scared the living you know what out of me. I never ever did it again. I am glad I got caught and was scared so badly.

I think I remember this, but I had forgotten. I'm sure you were totally scared. I would have been! I'm sure the parents weren't very happy either. Oh well, we live and learn!

It's great that you have never shoplifted. I think it would be quite embarrassing to get caught.

Yup, it'd certainly be embarrassing to get caught. But if I had tried that as a kid, it wldn't be embarrassing becos people tend to be kinder to kids. Anyway, I'm not trying to encourage any kids to steal.

Oh, what a nice girl !! You should be very proud of yourself. You got spanked too ? Oh, so sad ! You should not be spanked. I am sure your parents are proud of you too. I have never shoplifted. The thought never came to my mind, any way.

My parents hardly ever spanked me. I think that time they really wanted to teach me a lesson. I did learn never to steal again. I really didn't like getting spanked :)

No, I have never intentionally shoplifted. HOwever, once at Wal-Mart as I was putting my groceries into my car, I noticed that I had put a birthday card underneath my purse that I had intended to pay for........... but I didn't.......... so I went back in to pay for it :)

That was really great of you to go back and pay for it. Many people would not have done that!

i never shoplifted in my entire life. Im basically afraid of my father cause he will really spank me if i do something wrong and i wouldn't really want that. But oh i remember something when i was a kid maybe 4 or 5 yrs old, there is pen in a counter, im not really poor or anything like that, i can even buy 10 of that pen and just give it away to anyone i want, it's just well im a kid and i really am naughty, i never tell my parents about that, no one knows unless there is a hidden camera in that particular area :))

I think little kids take things without really meaning to actually steal. I know when I took it, I wasn't really thinking I was stealing. I just wanted it! lol! I know it sounds bad. I definitely learned my lesson though.

Yes i've shoplifted a few times. I got caught over 17yrs. ago, yes I got caught security caught me the police were involved. They tried calling my mom but there was no answer they let me go home. When I got home I didn't tell my mom I just waited for the papers in the mail so I can know when to go to court she obviously found out & she was so disappointed in me. I went to court by myself I spoke to judge there weren't no charges Thank goodness. I never stole again after that. In the long run its not worth it if you don't have $ don't think about stealing it.

Yeah, I definitely agree. It might seem like a good idea at the time, but in the long run, it's not worth it. I'm glad you learned from your experience. Some people will keep doing it, even after they get caught. I would be way too afraid to do that!
