I look mostly like my fathers side of the family; short, overweight and a roundish face. My green eyes come from the Irish side (fathers), and no one else has them. My dark brown hair (now white) comes from the Aboriginal side of my family (also my fathers). My slighly olive skin also comes from the aboriginal side. My overall figure is exactly like my fathers sisters. Who do you look like in your family? Are you happy with the features you inherited?

Hi jenny, like you, I also took after my father's looks as for the face. My bodily shape though comes from my mom, chubby and a big tummy but with slender legs. Makes me kind of imagine myself like an upright frog! I am happy with how I look. Contentment is the key. But I do wish my mouth area weren't as protruded as they are now and I wish my nose were a little less wider horizontally. My chin could also use a little emphasis like my mom's whose bloodline can be traced back to French and Spanish ancestry.

I have a biggish tummy and more slender legs too. I say it comes from my aboriginal ancestors.

Most of people have the ideas that boys are like their fathers and girls are like their mothers, but sometimes sons and girls likes old relatives from fathers or mothers, I am like my father. that is all out of our hands, But if we try to get our children a good rules to help them in their live and pry for god to get them the happiness, I do that what about you.

Everyone says that I am the splitting image of my mom. Sometimes I see it; eyes, hair, skin color and body type are all the same. I'm a little taller though. One thing I've inherited from her is we both tend to stay younger looking. I'm sure it will all catch up soon. I like my features, except I tend to gain weight real easy and have a hard time getting rid of even one pound. Grrrrrr.

You are lucky to be so happy with your appearance and figure. My office manager is Indian, and she is very pretty.

I am a mystery. I didn't think I looked like anyone in my family until I found an old picture. It was a nice one and abeautifully framed. The problem is that no one was still alive to tell me which side of the family this person came from. Just another question that comes along with genealogy work. If you take family pictures please name and date them so the future people know who they are.

Yes, I agree. I have done the genealogy of one side of my family, and for the much older photos, it was very diffcult to identify people.

I look exactly like my mother. The more I age the more I look like her! I have the same sort of hair and eyes, the only thing that is different is the nose. As far as the body, I am more like my father. I am tall and my legs aren't very nice. She has nice thin legs and a big bust, while I am the opposite.

You must be a combination of both. Sometimes as we get older, one parent shows up more than another in our features.

That is funny. I know that at some periods of my life I was the spittin' image of my mom, and at other stages I was told I looked like my dad.

I look like my mother, except I got dad's nose. My sister looks like dad and my bro looks more like mom. Having said that, my sister and I look like we are related unlike my first cousins who don't look anything like our family

My brother and I look absolutely nothing like one another. We used to say that he didn't look like either of our parents, although later inlife, when we met Mums uncles, we realised that brother looked like one of them.

I've often been told that I look like my dad's side of the family. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm happy with this. Not that there's anything wrong, but I'm just not sure I'm happy with it. Although I don't think that a lot of people are happy with the features they've inherited.

Why would you not be happy with loking like your fathers side of the family? Is there a feature you don't like?

Are we ever happy with how we look? Lol! I look like my father but have my mother’s eyes. I am happy with looking like my dad as I prefer it. My sister is a lot like mum in looks and she hates it! We don’t have a great relationship with our mother and that explains how my sis feels, fortunately she resembles mum in looks only! I don’t mind the way I look and I figure it could be a lot worse!

I think people should be satisfied, but most of us have wishes for something different about our appearance. You sound happy that you tak eafter your fathers side of the family.

I got my curly hair from my dad, and as I get older, a lot of my face looks like his side of the family. But the shape of my body is more my mom's. Sometimes I think I look a lot like she did, but then I'll see my profile in the mirror and think I look somewhat like Dad's sister. I guess I'd have to say I've got quite a lot from each of them and it's all mixed up.
