Is earning money more satisfying than the money itself?

I'm really curious about this. Do you guys find more pleasure in earning money or having the money? I'm not really talking about spending, 'though, I like to see it this way. When I work for something, I don't see pleasure in working itself (except when it is amusing and not so much 'working', like this site) but I see pleasure in buying something I worked for. I think that a blackberry is more worth when you worked hard for it, and worth less if someone gave it to you, out of the blue.

I agree with you. I am really satisfied if I can buy something with money that I got from my hard-work. This feel of satisfaction really beyond words. It is far better feeling than getting money from people for just doing nothing (for example, money from parents, or so)!

I like earning money as well as seeing the payments I get in my PayPal account. I feel happier when I actually get my payment, but it is fun earning money, although it does take a lot of time and effort for me to earn extra money.

I thin it's a case to case basis. I am happy when I am paid for my writings but enjoy most of my posting here in my lot than the money I received out of it. Some people I know do not care about the money as they volunteer their services for free. But they collect huge payment for their services rendered because it's their profession.

I think there is pleasure in both earnng and spending one's earned money. It's hard to choose a 'best'..The pleasures are different. There is an even different pleasure in receiving a gift.. I remember when I first started making good money and I looked down into my wallet and it hit me..I EARNED all those dollars...
