How do we know if a dog is pregnant?

I just wanna know if our dog is really pregnant. I'm just curious. Is there a way to find out? Does any of you know the signs that we can see in order to confirm if a dog is really pregnant? I know that their nipples will grow larger but that usually happens in the late stage already, when the dog is already about to give birth.

The best and most accurate way?
Take your dog to a vet and let them examine her to see if she is pregnant or not, and if so, how far along.

I was thinking about that but going to the vet means you have to pay for it. Lol Yeah you're right, the most accurate way is to have it checked by the vet. But I guess I just want to know the signs so I could just examine it myself. Thank you for responding.

The reason I said to have the vet check, instead of giving you the signs so you could check yourself, is because sometimes... dogs can have the signs and symptoms but not be pregnant. So, it's not very accurate to diagnose yourself.
Also, it is good to take her to the vet in case she is pregnant, so they can make sure the pregnancy is going alright, and there are no complications.
But, if you want to know the signs, here you go:
Decreased appetite is the earliest sign. Then, there is decrease in activity, nipple growth, and behavioral changes.
There are more, but those are the most common. It's really hard to tell though, since dogs can have these symptoms without being pregnant. An ultrasound or simple examination by a vet is much more reliable and accurate.

Well thank you for that very comprehensive response. I guess you are really right. I can't diagnose it myself for it may not be accurate. I'm just wondering, are you a vet?
