Don't be so hard on yourself! If you can read a recipe, you can cook!

Hello tinat and welcome to myLot. First thing I would do is learn how to measure every thing from liquids to solids. Here are two web sites to get you started http://startcooking.com/blog/87/Measuring-Different-Ingredients-in-Cooking
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwTGA6YQ6Co
Next you need to learn what the terms mean http://blissfullydomestic.com/food-bliss/kitchen-tips-food-bliss/basic-cooking-terms-and-abbreviations/20938/
Since you are from the Philippines You may have to learn the terms in you language.

Hi Tina,
All it needs is a bit of patience and practice. I started my cooking with burning the whole lot of rice in a pan; and now atleast what I cook is loved by my family. Ofcourse, some of the experiments fail; but the ones that go through successfully with people liking it, i have uploaded them at my website http://yogicook.com.
The website will provide you every single step how to proceed with your cooking. Please like the fb page on the site if the website helps you in cooking. Hope you get through pretty soon and we get new dishes to eat too from your end.
Good Luck !! :)

I took Home Ec in Junior high and High school. I learned a lot of basic steps to preparing meals and also different table settings.
All my children loved to cook I guess because they saw their momma cook.
My son is a chef at one of the best restaurants here on Panama City beach florida.
While in home ec, we used a recipe book called
Betty Crocker Cook book.
Have to tell you I have went through 3 or 4 in my lifetime LOL. Pages would get worn etc.
It is like the bible of cookbooks as teaches you about measurements of dry foods, liquids, etc.
It is every woman's or man's right hand in learning how to cook anything from a basic bread, to meat to tasty desserts.
Go online and get a recipe that you think you might want to try.
The only thing I can tell you from the internet, I went to one online free recipes and I followed two recipes to the T and both while they would have been very good, its the fact of knowing how much spice (salt and pepper) and not always going by what the recipe says.
Doing this comes with experience.
Start out small.
Not sure where you are from, you can try something very basic like hamburgers. I get the dry onion soup mix, a lb of hamburger, mix one package of the dry mix with this hamburger and form in patties place in oven on 425 for about 20 min on each side. About 5 min before taking out, lay slices of cheese to melt on it and have your buns ready and you have a really tasty burger. deffinately not bland.
Happy cooking and the thing about cooking is make it your own. you will be surprised how quickly your instincts and taste will kick in on what to add to certain foods
But get you a Betty Crocker Cookbook you won't go wrong having one in your kitchen!

Hi, it's sounds like my self.. I also love foods, love eating and kind of foods.
same as yourself, I also cannot cook!!
But after I've get married, I try to cook for my husband.
there's a lot of people say that cooking is a difficult activities to do.. but now, I think it's not absolutely right!!
If you wanna try to cook, I'm sure that you can..
First maybe you have to try to cook the food that you love. for sample, if you love to eat pudding, you can try to cook them by your self..
I said to you that eat the food that you've cooked is always more delicious.. and you will feel more happy about it..
Just try this..!!

You can observe when someone you know is cooking and try it for yourself. You may fail at first but you should not give up.You will not learn until you'll do it,and practice and a lot of practice. You can also search the internet for your favorite food and try to cook it yourself.

Watching videos will help you do it. Sometimes it's not possible with only the recipe if you don't know how to cook. They tell you about slice carrots, dice potatoes, skin the monkfish... if you watch a video, or a tutorial with lots of pics, you will know better what you have to do. That works for me.
