This article so close behind some rather questionable statements made by Herman Cain makes you really wonder about his viability as a true contender in the GOP primary, despite poll results:

According to what is said in the article, he can't be too serious about his campaign as he is starting a book signing tour in the middle of it, not to mention going to states that are not early voters in the primary. He on the other hand claims this is to compliment his run for Presidency and increase name recognition. So what do you think, do you agree with the NYT and WSJ that he is not serious and just wants to be famous, or is this another media attempt to bury one of the candidates in favor of their picks?

What Taskr said is true. Herman Cain is still relatively unknown to a lot of people despite the fact that he has been on Fox and in a couple of debates.
A book tour isn't such a bad idea. It maybe a bit odd perhaps but it might ultimately work for him. At the most, it might be considered tacky.
He will get press face time all by himself without having to share the spotlight.

I think he's just trying a different style of campaigning than most politicians. He does need more name recognition. That's a fact. Campaigning in the early primary states doesn't mean nearly as much as it's made out to. Michelle Bachmann has dropped heavily in the polls despite heavy campaigning in those states and a big straw poll victory.
I think now is an odd time to do a book tour, but it does increase name recognition. Obama certainly took time to market his books during his presidential run. I don't know if I'd say the media is trying to bury him. The media's bet tactic for burying candidates is to ignore them as they have with Ron Paul and Gary Johnson.

I believe that Herman Cain is very serious about his run for the presidency. I also believe that he is trying to get his name recognized in different places he still has a little time to go back to the early primary states where in most of them his name is already recognized. I think that the nyt and the wsj are just trying to bash him............................
