If someone is staring at you, will you stare back? What does it make you feel?

It feels uncomfortable when one person stares at me, or gawks at me. I have never been comfortable seeing people stare at me. It feels like they are stripping me from head to toe, from toe to head. It feels like they wanted to invade my inner self.
I usually give back a sharp look, then I turn away, avoiding the stare. It is easy to see a glare from a glimpse.
How about you?

I don't like that feeling too. I often get stares because I'm always with my twin sister. Being a twin catches people's attention. I really feel uncomfortable whenever people stare at me. I often just pretend to not notice and look away. Oftentimes I would also avoid walking beside my sister (especially in the street) so we won't get too much unwanted attention.

Sometimes, I forget that it is because I'm a twin that's why people stare a lot at me. I'm still not used to people staring despite all these years. Little children stare at us as well - stares that are much more intense than adults do. I find it cute though and I am not a bit annoyed at all. They appear to be really confused when they see double!

Me too! I get so uncomfortable when people stare at me (or us). I usually don't know how to react. Since we're getting lots of unwanted attention, I tend to avoid people's eyes when I walk on the streets. Just recently, we passed by a group of male workers hanging out outside a store. One of them shouted, "Good morning twins! Are you going to work now? Wait for me." I don't know whether to laugh or to get scared. Some people also seem to know where we work. If I'm going to run for a government position, I'd be ecstatic with my "popularity", but I don't want to be popular among strangers. It's kind of annoying.
I think friends or acquaintances who are staring at us to find similarities and differences is okay (although it can be quite uncomfortable too LOL). But stares from strangers are pretty scary.

I think, I will also shudder if someone is staring me ceaselessly. I may even feel nervous. As you said, it would be better to look at him/her in the same manner or if that is not possible, just leave the place.

Ooh baby, LOL, just kidding. You're right, it is an uncomfortable feeling. I do not like it either. There are many reasons why someone would stare. For instance, if there is a beautiful girl and a guy is staring it might just mean that he finds here extremely attractive. But it could also mean that they want to attack you or rob you. So, starring back is not a bad idea. Make them aware that they are staring. But always be careful.

Well, when I said staring at a beautiful girl I meant admiring. Everyone does that and there is nothing wrong with it. But yes gawking become stalking and that is just a very uncomfortable feeling. Always be aware of your surroundings and make sure there are lots of people around.

I definitely don't like it when people stare at me. What I do is I stare back until they look the other way. I don't like them staring at me and I never stare at people.

I actually give the "i am pissed" stare and they will just look away. Or I keep looking at them until they do so!

I really hate someone staring at me.I stare at them back till they look away and at times I get tired of this practice and walk away without wasting my time on them. There were occasions when I used to advice my daughter aloud as if training her that staring is bad if she accompanies me.I hope the starers get the message.

bingskee,
Must be my lucky day for resembling some local celebrity or dignitary.
Anyway, I just do not get it why people have to stare when they can just simply look and be done with it. Anyway, I rarely get the stares but when I do, I would just give them that inquisitive look and ask if there's anything on my face or hair.
You'll be surprise what the answers I heard so far.

Actually, sometimes, it's also easier to assume you're being stared at even if the person didn't. But usually, it is very bothering that I try to study the person from the corner of my eye while simultaneously checking if something's wrong with me.
Usually, I wipe my eyes if there's dirt (they call it morning glory, jokingly), or i wipe my face. Those are the times I wish I'd carried a mirror with me.

oh, i know what you mean about those instances that you thought you are the one being stared at and discovered later that there is a very attractive lady or guy beside you. ha ha
what would you do if your suspicion's right? that there's a b**ger on your face?

Because of the fact that I don't think that it is right to stare at another person, when I see that there is someone that is staring at me, I won't even give them as much as a glance. Instead, I will avert my gaze everywhere but in the direction that the person is staring from.
I know that it makes me really uncomfortable when a person is staring at me, but there is only so much that you are able to do in order to get them to stop.

It is rude for people to stare and it makes me angry. Every time it happens, I would stare back and not blink at all. If the person does not quit staring, I'd ask, "What's your problem?"

If someone is staring at me, I will look them in the eye and ask them what they are looking at. They might ask me back that they didn't do anything, but I will pick at them and show them who I really am. I will then see what they are up to and maintain a constant check of their activities. The last thing I want to feel is unease, and to combat that, I will fight back.

Just like you, I stare back. And if the person won't look away or won't even show any sign that s/he is embarrassed by it, then I ask that person "Is there anything wrong?" That usually does the trick.

Whenever someone stares at me, I sometimes stares back. Then I make my impressions about that person. This usually happens whenever I am inside a jeepney or a bus. My feeling actually after our eye to eye interaction depends on how I view the person. If I could feel that the person is not that nice, I would feel awkward about it and never stares back to him/her. However, if that person is friendly to look at and nice, I would simply stare and look back to her/him.

Yes it is a very uncomfortable feeling and one that if done long enough can upset me in a way that I don't like it. I have learned with time that if someone stares too long and or continuously that my staring right back gets them to stop. lol
