Anorexic child, it's the parents fault?

I go everyday to the hospital and in one of those days, we saw a case that shocked us. We saw a 7-years anorexic girl. She use her cell phone to see the calories of every aliment that the nurses give to her. Also, before her going to the hospital, she even didn't drank water because she didn't want to gain weight. Do you guys think that this situation was her parent's fault? Or there are cases that no matter what the parents do, it would not change?

Anorexia Nervosa is a terrible problem. I have seen a lot of patients in various hospitals in different countries. And yes, each girl has a "clinging" mother! I do believe it is aided by the parents.

I guess the big problem is that the girl controls her mother. She kind don't have limits, so, she do what she wants.

I don't believe it's the parents fault its her body, she has no appetite. I had a friend whom was anorexic for a few years she weighed 100-pounds at 17 yrs old, she wouldn't eat anything she would suck on candy and drink juice or eat chips or sometimes would force herself to eat. I wouldn't blame her parents because my friend is the own that doesn't want to eat whatever her parents gave her she didn't want to eat. I remember her taking a pill and she gained weight like whooo! she is about 150-160 now.

I know her mother tried everything to make her daughter to eat, but didn't even wanted water. I guess in this situation her parents didn't have what to do.

May be is the parents fault, but also of the surrounding environment. She's a little chid and at this age children try to imitate what the others do. It could be probably that she has seen other girl with the same behaviour. She needs medical help.

An Anorexic child has many difficult challenges which damages the child's body in so many ways. It works 2 ways the parent knows about these conditions which they may probably see is overwhelming then you have the television which children watch most of them think its cool to want to be anorexic but they choose not to know the consequences. When children watch tv they may not understand all the words but just by them watching they don't know what the true effects are. Yes its the parents fault cause the parent should be keeping up w/ what the child is doing making sure she's getting enough nutrients in her body that she needs. By the parent she needs to take her child to the dr. to have the correct treatment done so her daughter doesn't have to suffer.

Yes, TV affect a lot the kids. This little girl wants to be an actress, probably this is one of the reasons why she stop eating.
