I don't think Christianity, or any religion should be taught in school
in the sense that it is taught to the students as something they must follow or believe in
but i think that all religions should be studied in school to learn different perspectives of looking at the world and life

Now THAT would be a good idea as well. All religion or none. Don't force anything upon anyone and tell them they must believe that way. Just teach them each way.

I think you're really asking two separate questions here. So I'll answer them both.
1. Should Christian religion be taught in public schools?
Absolutely. I certainly didn't mind learning about it when we studied the major religions in history class. It was nice to learn about all types of other people and be informed, even as a non-Christian.
2. Should Christian viewpoints be forced on students in the public school system?
Absolutely not! Education should remain secular and not be biased towards the viewpoints of any one religion.

Christianity should not be banned from schools because of some phony garbage about keeping religion out of government schools. Two religions are already being taught all the time - evolution and secular humanism. If these belief systems can be taught, then there should be room for Christian beliefs as well.
On the other hand the truths of Christianity are not only to be learned, but also lived. This teaching needs to be primarily in the home. So even if Christianity is taught in the schools, it will still need to be applied in the home.
Have a great day.

Evolution is not a religion, it is scientific theory based on a ton of evidence. You can see evolution during your own lifetime in the various species of bacteria (such as bacteria becoming resistant to different antibiotics).
At the schools I went to, we learned evolution in science class, but we learned the beliefs on creation of many religions in English and history classes. These should be taught for what they are, belief systems, not science.

It would be unfair to those who do not practice religion. And since public schools are government funded that would be a clash between religion and GOVT. which is not allowed. I think that it should be easier for people to get into the private schools that teach the religion of their choice. They cost a fortune and it just doesn't seem fair to those who would love for their children to attend a religious school but cannot afford to do so.
I am happy with my children going to a good public school and attending church if and when they wish to.
