For a comprehensive review of the features of various TV's, have a look at this article: http://bit.ly/62Fe3u That links to a PCWorld article. As far as which one is best, depends on which one you personally like the best. Remember that when TV's are displayed in a showroom, they are all fed identical content that makes them look good. So when I bought mine, I made sure that it had the inputs I needed, and that it supported 1080p (had a native resolution of at least 1920x1080). I ended up with an LCD model; there was an identical size plasma model next to it for less money, and I almost bought it, until I read that it only supported 720p content. As far as brands go, I don't get caught up with that too much. From where I'm sitting, I can't really read the word "Dynex" on the bottom frame of my TV anyway. To be honest, I enjoy it's features and picture quality more than the name brand unit it replaced. When evaluating the picture of the TV, don't assume that just because one has a brightness/contrast that is appealing to you, another model cannot be adjusted the same way. Usually the units are displayed at their default picture settings, so don't be shy about asking to adjust those settings to see if there is a mode you like better on a different model.
