I have finally gone to work on Odesk. When I finally completed my profile and took some tests the other day, I applied for jobs and got 3 interviews and one job already. The money isn't alot, but I figure after I get some hours and feedback, I can ask for more money.
I just wish that people wouldn't work at such low income on there, so maybe we could ask to get paid a little more. I was used to making a phone call or receiving a phone call or email and working a couple hours or so a day and making a couple hundred or a coupla thousand. Now, I am applying for jobs at 2 and 4 dollars an hour. Hard to figure how people will work so hard to try to get one of these jobs, but there are soo many applicants for each job.
When I get more nerve up, I will apply for some of the high-paying jobs. I am just afraid I'll mess something up so far, but later on I'll maybe get up the nerve to use more of my talents.

Well, to be honest you can find better freelance jobs outside of those sites. Most of them are extremely low paying there since they are open to everyone. If you find work at home sites, you will see they have many more better paying jobs. That is why I am not a big fan of those bidding sites, they just seem to be useless for most of us who need to make a living off freelance work.

No problem at all! The reason why I did not list any websites is due to the policy they have here. However, I really am against using those bidding sites if you can help it. Our time and work is worth so much more than pennies on an hour.

I believe I will look into this. I would like to make a little more money than some of them want to pay right now. I looked at your profile to see if you had anything to give me an idea of where to go, but you didn't have anything there, so I guess I will have to do some research on my own for this information.
Thanks for the tips. That's why I like it here. Seems like I learn something here very often.

Hi again Vampirekitten (cute name). After reading your response, I went to search engines and looked for freelance jobs, and much to my surprise, I can be making much much more on the sites you are speaking of compared to the ones I have been looking at. I was glad, because all of the college I went through had to do with administration and management, so I was thinking, 'wow' all my schooling and on the internet it's worth very little, but today I found that not to be true. So thanks so much for responding today. It helped me out tremendously. I think more of myself now.

Hi there! I hope you are doing well. By the way, I'm joining Odesk and haven't been much active here. I needed ways to earn real money since I don't know how my part time job is going to be. I may get my job review soon but i work minimum wage which is not enough to pay bills or something. It seems i live from pay check to paycheck. I just hope there are some decent employers I can work with do a job. I have never experience an actual work at home job. I just need more talents and skills.

Hi webgirl. I just got back to mylot after a couple months. I hope that by now you have picked up some work on Odesk. I haven't even been there for the last couple of months either. My personal responsbilities have a way of keeping me from working on an income at home. I am being patient though, cause at different times in your life, different things go on that you sometimes need to foreget about yourself and help out with others best you can. That's where I am right now.
Also, you will pick up experience as you continue working on the internet. God bless.

I have not been paid yet, but I know they are reputable, because I have read too much that has convinced me that they are reliable. I am excited about having the opportunity to work for odesk. There is always a report on each employer that tells their history with Odesk. How much they have paid out, how many they have hired and so on and so forth.
So Odesk provides for you the information you need to decide whether or not you would want to choose that person or employer to apply to.

You've done a good job at starting the Odesk hiring process. I've had many experiences with this site. Last July, I had hired someone to develop my website's artistic appeal. The worker was able to design graphic animations and a movie player for my website. The job was done on time, and I gave him a bonus base upon the quality of work received. Its so heart warming and satisfying to see others putting high interest in completing work.

Yes. I thought it was a very good start myself, and I noticed that on the first couple of days that I was applying for some of the jobs that I could apply for as many as 15, and then after I was interviewed for two and hired for one, the number of apps I could do had changed to 20. I thought that was pretty neat, but oh my goodness, that is alot of apps, by the time you go through all of the lists and then go through all of the job descriptions and pay rates. It is very timely, so I haven't filled out more than 11 or so altogether.
It is good that you found a worker who completed the position you needed to be filled and that they did a fine job for you!

Well, it sounds interesting.. I think most of us here in mylot community will have a dream to becomes freelancer with good and stable income.. I have tried before but not so many suitable jobs for me.. I have seen most of the high paying job is for programmer.. I wish I could learn some of those job skills to get higher payment.. However, you have made a good starting points since you will have good profile and if you can get good feedback from your clients then it will be better for you to get new client after..
wish you all the best in your freelancer career...

Yeah. I know. There are some people on there who have different talents and make bookoos of money on there. I never was into computers until I started my own business at home a very few years ago, and only then I just needed access for a website and to find products my customers wanted and a good reliable email adddress so they could contact me when necessary and also the cities would send there purchase orders through the email. So I had to use the computer, but other than that, I knew nothing about the technical part.
I was looking thru the workers who would do contracts and it is amazing the amount of money that some of them make, but some do the same that I have been doing and are asking way more than I ask. I would be surprised if they ever got paid that much, bt I hope they can.
