I think this is a very good suggestion and the mylot admin should try to incorporate . I used to previously write in a ladies forum (non-profit) where we had this option . The editing button was operative for 15 mins . Many times we feel the need to change some views . Hope this addition is made .

Yes this is one of the more glaring issues with myLot. In fact the one flaw that I can seen with this otherwise great website. Granted its not so much of an error thing(even though those do crop up, despite looking at my posts up and down, left to right, and backwards), but rather there are sometimes where I tend to get trigger happy with the post button and post before I complete a thought.
You can talk about how you should look over your posts until you get blue in the face but that doesn't really fly when momentum is running high. There are just a lot of times where I really am going to keep positing, posting, and often times, I get into a grove, the creative juices are flowing, and you get excited. An edit button would be a great help but myLot has foolishly decided not to have one ,which would prevent this website from being perfect. Still great, but not really perfect.

megamatt what do you think the preview and edit buttons are for, just preview look to see any red or blue lines under errors, hit
edit to corrct, correct and hit post . it is all there for us
to use before we ever hit post.

There are times when I realise I've written a message with mistakes in it that I'd like to edit it, but for me, the fact that we cannot change or delete our posts here at My Lot is one of its best features. Because once a post is sent, it's preserved, almost like a minitiure work of art: for my part it gives me a unique sense of satisfaction to post here because of that feature. Indeed, My Lot is one of the few sites on the internet as I see it that still has that feature; and it's to My Lot's credit in my opinion. That said, I must admit I don't like reading my posts back and realising I've made a foolish error. I normally read my posts before sending, but not always I guess.

three times lost start again copy You forgot we have preview and ed it, we are supposed to review, check for errors ,then if we have them hit edit and correct, then hit post.of course if we had an edit button after hitting post it would be nice but we are supposed
to have edited first.I think a lot of us do not even notice the
preview and edit button choices and we should use them as the admins
has not seen fit to give us the extra option after hitting post.

May a make a soft little reproof here, you picked best response just minutes after you posted this, you did not give all of us a chance to even read it before giving the br. in the guidelines you may have missed mylot admins does suggest waiting a week before choosing best response so that all of us have had a chance to
read your discussion. also in my eyes this looks like you had already decided before getting but one response who you wanted to give the br too, that's not fair as the best response should not be given to a friend but to who ever really made the best response.
I wish you would have taken a little time to read the guidelines
as picking friends is not fair, this should not be based on friends
but on the best response no matter if this person is a friend or not.

Certainly, edit after post can still be useful to refine, would be an added value not a necessity.
Sorry i'm new i have missed rule for best response, even in this case i thought that i can change best response in the course of discussion !
Thanks for advice i have to read with more attention guidelines and let me say that i have never give best response to my friends. I have only 6 friends and no one of them have receive a best response.
I think that even after a week there might be a better response, and following this logic to moral debate we should never give the best response (if we can't change it) because there may always be a better answer !

I don't think I much care about my old responds on mylot I do check twice before submitting anything but I have never used the preview button or ever looked at my older posts. If my posts get comments or replays I do replay them but it is rare that I will read my own post again after posting.
