When we hear the word Free, we all come running. Why is that?? Is it human nature to want something for nothing?? Maybe it's like receiving a gift. We all love gifts.
Of course, when you see advertising that says Free, you better read the fine print. Often, Free is just the bait to get you to spend your money.
I'm no different than anyone else. I love Free. So tell me, what can I really get for Free??

They take advantage of people's psychology where people are anxious to get things on the cheap.More often than not, people will fall into their trap. They are throwing a long line to catch a big fish.

People indeed come running when they hear the word free. Have you seen ow fast mfgr sites blow thru the couple hundred to couple thousand samples? Omg, it's next to impossible to get any freebies online anymore.
But I do know that with the way the economy has been the past several years that everyone is doing their best to get the most for nothing and make every dollar last.

HI bird: I think it's exactly how you say. I'm pretty skeptical when I read that something is free. First question I ask to myself is why because there must be an intention behind this. I have to read the offer and the conditions to know if it's really an interesting offer and at the same time I think about the quality of the product and about my needs as a customer to know if I get a real profit for taking this "free" product.

Nowadays, living in the city, there is nothing free anymore. Everything is a bait. Even the air and the temperature inside the malls are not free. One will have to ride the car, and he spends for it. Only if you live in the province, and you are so near nature, will you be able to get things free, like the scenes, and the wind.

The best thing in life are free! and that is true. =)
I mean whenever we get something that we did not have to pay for it, well of course that makes us feel good, we feel we are important and that we are getting something that we did not even asked for, or worked for.
You are right, it is part of human nature too... we live, we breathe a free air and that is one of the greatest things in our lives... to feel good, and not to worry about anything at all, like what we will have to pay if we do this, if we get this.. and so on...

I think it's a relative thing. I get gorgeous sights when I go driving around the area where I live and they are free, kinda. I do have to buy the gas and keep the car maintained to get me to where I can see these free sights. Hmmm, I guess nothing is totally free after all. I'd love to say that the trees right outside my house are becoming gorgeous with the fall colors right now but even they come at a price. I had to buy this house to be able to look outside my door at the beautiful trees.
What I love (sarcasm intended) is when we're told we can SAVE money when we buy certain things. Save 50%! Save 25%! No, I'm saving money by not going to the store to buy anything at all. I suppose if it's something you need then saving a percentage is nice but, if it's something that would be an impulse buy because it's ON SALE, it's not saving you anything and actually costing you money.
Still, that word FREE is like a gift we didn't expect. I think it is human nature to respond to that word, Free. I've been trying to learn some marketing strategies recently and they mentioned that giving away something free along with whatever it is I'm trying to sell will get people's attention and even motivate a percentage of them to buy what I'm selling. In that respect, I'd have to say that it is indeed human nature to want something that is free.

We love free because there are no payments required! Well at least that's why I love free. If I see free online I do not bother because nine times out of ten they want you to do something and that is not free. But if I see something in the store and it is buy one get on free or buy this and get this free or just places where you can get free stuff then I am all for it.

Maybe we ought to tar and feather those who lie about giving something free and don't really mean it. At least run them out of town before they bait some innocent person again. Yes, there are some free deals that help save us lots of money. Some do know the meaning of free.

There is really nothing better than hearing the word free. I mean, many people are looking for ways to save money. Getting something for nothing is the ultimate way to save money. Of course, as you mentioned, read the fine print. Things are rarely as they seem after all. There are a lot of times that free is the hook to get your attention, before they try and coax you into spending something.
It is a devious trick but it is a devious trick that works well. So I can't really fault these people for trying such a thing. It is bait, devious, but hey, that could be smart business. Sometimes smart business tactics are derived from the most slimy practices in the world. That is just the nature of the game. I do love some free things but it sadly is rather what it seems to be.

In this world, there is nothing free. You always give people something, maybe you know or do not, so that you get the others. "Free" is just mean you do not spend money.
Anyway. I also like the free things in the true meaning of it.

Everyone loves that word. I don't know. Maybe because, that something is free and it comes with no price. But the question is: Is there really something for free? We seldom see things that are for free nowadays. It's just so hard to just give things for free now that the economy is going down. Those stuffs that are written for free usually requires you to buy something even much more expensive than the stuff they are giving to you for free. So, we better watch out for that and not just think that since it's for free, it really is for free. But there are a lot of things that says "Buy 1, take 1". I guess with things like these, we can really save money. Though not really a huge amount, but a little would be enough.

I think that there is basically nothing that is for free. At first I thought, "hey, maybe air is free!". And although it is, the quality of the air you breathe depends on where you live. And if you live somewhere, then housing, etc. must cost money. Although this isn't always true, the nicer the area, the better the air. So, air itself might be free, but the quality isn't.
Clean water, is also, not free - unless you count rain. But the you have to catch it in something! You could conceivably dig through other people's refuse to find something like that though - however, in the overall scheme of things, it wasn't free since someone had to pay for it. But, it'd be free for you!
Free samples are free if you have a house for them to mail it to you and access to a computer to sign up!
Have you ever heard of freegans? They're probably the best at living 'free'.

Free things mean we don't have to work for them, and that's why we like them.
