Did you know if you give someone a PC or get one repaired, it is a possibility they can see all the places you have visited on the internet. Would that be embarrassing to you? glowin100

Even worse. If they take it to the service centre they will open all the files in the hard disk.WE cant hide the files in the hdd because pc gets damaged without any warning and they might sometimes say they need to take it to the service centre. That happened to me before when i went there to take back my pc after repair, they were actually going through the files of my pc and they were writing movies with dvd as well.

For me, it is totally embarrassing. You can avoid it by deleting all browsing history & cache. Make sure you also delete temp internet files. If you want to give your computer to someone else, better format it freshly.

Reformat and or replace the hard drive. Be warned that even if you do a clean format on the old drive, they do have software where they can uncover stuff from previous installations.

I donated mine to the technician before getting a new one and I don't think he will have time to read through. I can trust him when I asked him about this as he also said he would clean up the stuff lock, stock and barrel.

Yes I did know that. That's why I always clear up the cookies, cache, etc. after I use the internet. Of course I don't waste my time with adult sites, but it's always good to clear up everything after you use the internet. That way you prevent on getting a trojan or virus to infect your computer. Luckily I always take care of my computers, so I never send them to repairs.

Well, just go see! There's nothing in my internet history that could make me embarassed . By the way, I frequently clean my browser's history, cache, and cookies though. Usually I do it once a month, using help from CCleaner. By doing so, I can get the free space of 700+ MB

I heard of that but I think we can prevent that if we will be deleting our browser history or better yet reformat your compute before giving. The computer will be good as new and all your data will be deleted.

Yeah, I can see your point and it can be embarrassing if we like to visit Adult sector. My trick to avoid this kind of situation is simple actually, just clean all history, cache and cookies before I shut down my PC. So if suddenly I have to repair my PC, I have nothing to worried about.
