I just watched Live and Let Die yesterday starring Roger Moore and thought to myself that there were lots of actors who have played Bond and most of them were quite good. But for me Pierce Brosnan is the best since he played it well and he is the most god looking and most charming too. He fights well. I also like Sean Connery.. What about you?

Well Sean Connery I really respect as an actor, but as far as James Bond goes not my favorite. The simple reason is that no matter how hard I tried to sit through and watch an entire James Bond movie, I never could. That is at least until Daniel Craig. He made Bond realistic. Bond gets hurt and messes up in his version which makes him so full of win.

Well , Sean Connery had made the James Bond film famous. And after making some films he had decided to stop maybe because he don't want to be identified in bond films anymore. I think he is the most lovable Bond. James Bond, a licensed to kill agent have sophisticated gadgets on his sleeves to help him in any predicament.
The only difference with bond films today are more exciting because of the fast pace action.

See that's the thing. Bond isn't about the gadgets. He is about his intelligence and getting out of situations. No one has done that as well as Craig because they had the gadgets. The gadgets came about more in the movies then anywhere else because it wasn't suave for a spy to get dirty. As far as the fantasy thing, if he was then he would have just been called Batman.

I have watched all Bond movies and I think Pierce Brosnan is the best and the movies with him too. Maybe because I dont like old movies much and the last 2 bonds were a complete fail for me. Since hollywood started making movies not for the people to like but for making millions most movies suck :D

Well during the old days, I mean watching the first and the succeeding James Bond films that time for me were done artistically and can happen in actual circumstances.
Now because of the advancement of technology many have been changed. Even the impossible is shown on films which I guess in real life can not be done.
Making movies is business, so I think producers and directors main motives is for their movies to make money. The next is to entertain.
I like Pierce too next to Sean.

I think you are referring to the movie Thunderball where Bond uses a jetpack (rocket backpack) on his back to escape from his enemies. It was played by Sean Connery. So after Sean, you have not watched Roger Moore as James Bond followed by Pierce if I remember it right. I guess there is another movie in the making starred again by Daniel Craig.

I was born 1984 and watched a Bond movie somewhere in 1994-5 because in my country before 1989 you couldnt see any movie like that :D Just what the country made was shown. And my point is I didnt like it much. It was the movie with the rocket backpack, I forgot the name. Didnt even know who Sean was back than. A couple of years after watching my first Bond came out the first movie wit Pierce. I found out about it from MTV thanks to the great soundtrack from tina (thumbs up). I went in the cinema and those were one of the greatest hours of my childhood :D After that I watched on VCR the other Bonds. Also I played some of the Bond games and I dont like them too :D In the old days movies were made to entertain and had more success I think :D I havent heard or searched but does anyone know if there is going to be another Bond movie?

The only James Bond movies I've seen the whole thing of are the ones with Pierce Brosnan. I wasn't a big fan of his till I saw those movies. He was really great in those movies. I do think he was the better looking Bond and more charming. Daniel Craig is good looking but I just didn't like him as James Bond. I think if he had gotten it before Pierce it would have been better. Going from a black haired Bond to a blond bond was a little weird.

I respect your opinion about the hair color. Yeah, Pierce and Craig are fast moving Bond but I prefer Pierce more.Sean Connery the first to star in bond films had made a name after ding Dr. No and Goldfinger. The most suave of them all.

yes..so many people played bond.. Sean connery is the original bond..his style, his grint, his english spy arrogance ..and total embodiment of James 007 bond"
but also the others have their own bringing of character to the Bond franchise..
Roger is more of a let loose bond..who brings minor humor to the otherwise stiff character..and what a womanizer he is..lol
lazenby..is ummm...forget it.
i love dalton..he is very rugged..and believable..not whimpy like Brosnan.. But brosnan is also look stunning in tux..and good looking
Craig,,is somewhat brut.and not bond lover expected..but some says he resembles the straight forwardness of Connery..the original bond..(i think so..a bit,in some scenes..)

Connery was the man! Connery was the Bond my Dad introduced me to but as for modern .I loved Perice You did not like Brosnan I know what you mean Goldeneye was an animal of a movie but the rest with our good old Pierce did not cut it for me. I think they calmed it down with Casino Royale which I loved.
You mentioned Lazenby What about Moore lol
I don't know how many times I have seen Goleneye and the opening never fails to get me hooked lol.
My Dad is a James Bond Nut and it rubbed off on me.

@ rafi,
Your really is a fan of James Bond film. Of coarse the original is always the best choice and that was Sean Connery. Maybe he got tired of being identified with bond films so he accepts other roles. Was replaced by George Lazenby who had done one film, then Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce and Craig.
Sean is a gentleman,Lazenby is not so, Moore is comic,Timothy not bad Pierce is dashing and Craig the youthful one.
@ thezone,
Sean, Lazenby and Moore's bond film are the old days while while Timothy, Pierce and Craig are action packed using newer technology so bond films now are more exciting and thrilling to watch.

I forgot the name of the work who played James Bond entitled Diamond is Forever, but i definitely like him. I watched all the JB's movies, except Casino Royale I just don't like craig daniel or daniel craig, whatever. He's not really a James Bond type actor.

Diamonds are forever was played by Sean Connery, the original James Bond.
Today's Bond film are more fast paced and technology filled and they've chosen a youthful Craig for their latest Ian Fleming movie.

I agree with you, my best James Bond is Pierce Brosnan and second is Sean Connery. Pierce really fits the role, in all aspects.

Yes, Pierce the good looking Bond. I just don't now the reason why he was replaced. Maybe the director don't want to see an aging Bond, but for me he still fits the role. And Connery, the respected Bond actor.

It's quite hard to choose who's the best Bond. I've only seen Bond films last year because of HBO Asia's Bond Evolution. They showed all Bond films from Dr. No up to Die Another Day. Watching all movies from Dr. No, I'd say Sean Connery because he was the first. All of them do have their own version of Bond so I would choose everyone if I could. My favorite would be Timothy Dalton though. I've never read the books but many say Dalton's portrayal of Bond is closest to Ian Fleming's Bond. Because of that, his portrayal seemed too tough and vengeful (in Licence to Kill) compared to Sean and Roger's balanced tough and suave Bonds. Anyhow, I like them all.

Yes, Sean Connery I guess too is the most popular and being the first too. He is the one that puts James Bond and Ian Fleming in the limelight. He is also the one who had appeared in most Bond's film. Anyway, they are all the best since the director had chosen them to portray the role of James Bond.

I haven't watched that much Bond movies.. But I do love Pierce Brosnan the most- he's the first one I saw. He is really charming and a god actor too- he really fits his role well and he does good action scenes. Too bad he only did 3 movies, Daniel Craig is okay though...

Yeah, I like the portrayal of Pierce too. He had done justice to the license to kill image of James Bond. It's too bad he got tired of the Bond role. Daniel is okay too the more energetic Bond.

Hi Stanley, my vote for the best Bond goes to Sean Connery too! Followed by Pierce Brosnan, yes I like him too. In fact I got hooked on to Bond movies because of him
I liked Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, not seen his other Bond movies yet, but I liked the kind of serious and deeper touch he has given to the character of James Bond. Where all of them are womanizers, he is the one Bond who got attached, or rather fell in love with one woman and grieved for her, makes him seem almost human.

Yeah, I'm with you being the original Sean is the best. He had made the the licensed to kill agent famous. I like Pierce too like Roger. Daniel Craig the latest is some kind of athletic suited for the fast paced action.

The best for me is Daniel Craig.the rebooted of the Bond films has a great move on the makers.Craig brings a new edge to the character.

Oh yes, it wasn't really a reboot, just a continuation of the series.. At first i thought Craig would ruin BOnd, but he was actually god and convincing too. I look forward to his next Bond film, hope it'll be as good as the first 2.

It's Sean Connery for me. I have always been a fan of Sean. I guess I'm influenced by my father because I've been watching him since I was a kid. He has several bond movies, and I think, the role is perfect for him.

I think all the actors who have portrayed James Bond in the film, have their own unique styles and qualities, that is why they have been chosen. Most of them did justice for the character like Sean, who possess some kind of suave manner. Roger Moore the comedian and smiling type, Pierce, the fast and good looking and the latest addition the young and energetic Craig.
The other two was short-lived, one actor made one film and the other I think made two films.
