Performance of Mercedes

I`ve listened that the engine performance of mercedes is very low, because its creator only only focuses on its appearence. Is it Reality?

it's wrong.i have heared that mercedes has efficiency while compare with other vehicles.

I'm a Mercedes Benz C200 1995 production. This means that my car is 17 years old. Even on the road I saw a Mercedes Benz that had been aged 30 years or more. I think it could be as durable as a good performance. On acceleration, the BMW is better. But I do not need it.
