What kinds of things do you like to do for enjoyment?

I was very upset with people lately and emailed my psych counselor. He had me come in. We both talked and he listened to what I had to say. He wanted to know what I did for fun. He said I need to make sure I do something fun.
Since I'm taking one day at a time these days, I'm going to try to do something fun every day. My fun things are read commics, play word games, listen to music, move to music (used to be dance but my feet are like led) and now I'm hunting for more ideas.

I do not know what I do for fun lately and that is a problem. I used to have a lot of fun online, but not now, I am too focused on needing to earn. I used to have fun doing crafts, but I have not done any in a while. I like to cook, if I do not have to. I think I need some structure. I do find it fun to take pictures, sit in the sun, swim, or get in the water and exercise.

Actually, my husband FINALLY fixed my front porch steps and that helped my attitude. I have a cold and I turn into a really awful person when that happens. I got some positive news in the mail as well and that has perked me up. I also went down to one of our thrift shops today, and it was PACKED I ran into an old friend and former co worker there and had a really nice chat. I need more "girlfriends" in my life and more social type time out of the house. I am starting probably two contract labor jobs soon and that will help.

I hope you're able to have some fun. yes, needing money can take the fun out of lots of things. Hope you at least get to sit in the sun some.

When I can't dance, I find writing is soothing, or just daydreaming, sometimes about a different life, helps me pass the time..

Oh I do that too, take my daydreams and turn them into a scene. I understand writing ahead of yourself and thanks to Stephen King, this is permissible..

I'm walking to music these days. Once the led gets out of my feet, I think I'll do the real stuff soon.
I like daydreaming. I have 3 books started, but I daydream so far and fast ahead of what I'm writing. . ..

The fun things I do on a daily basis are mostly internet-related, but I also have two wonderful cats who provide lots of laughs with their cuteness and playfulness. For me, the thing that prevents me from totally stressing out is the thought of my pets. When I get home they'd jump out the window to greet me and rub themselves against my legs. I take time to play with them and I enjoy their company. Perhaps you should consider getting a pet.

I don't do much that is fun and I am seeing the symptoms of SAD creeping up on me now that the weather is changing again. I do research online, I play a couple games I like on Facebook, watch favorite shows on tv, watch movies from Netflix, and I interact with my grandson.

Well I haven't done much that is fun lately and that's why my psychiatrist has prescribed fun for me.
Did you ever watch Northern Exposure where they had special lights for SAD? Have you ever tried the real life special light bulbs? At one point they sold 4 kinds up here. I had my husband put brighter lights in some of our light fixtures as soon as it started to affect me.

I always enjoyed Northern Exposure. No, the light therapy doesn't do anything for me. It is very frustrating. Few meds or therapies help me any.

I haven't really done much as of late as financially I am not able to do some of the things I usually enjoy. I do however still see the live theater shows my boyfriend is still performing as I do get in for free.
I enjoy surfing the net and keeping in touch with some people, although I might say some have actually forgotten me. As of 3 weeks though I have been catching up with a lot of cooking shows online. Something I really enjoy and have since getting rid of my cable not able to see. I have found ways to stream them free and legally online, lol So this has been a really great pass time for me because I am so behind I can now see them as marathons.
It has along with some cooking discussions here from marguicha given me more creative ways to utilize leftovers.

I love the cooking shows, too.
I've been finding some fun music on Youtube.
When I get some money, I think I'll go to a store that records only the songs that you like on one CD. I am starting to compile a list.

I didn't mention that I think it is an excellent idea you do some fun things. Even if the fun things are not considered fun to someone else as long as you are enjoying the time that is all that matters.
Doing fun things really help me from being the worry wart I am. lol

Right now, I do have some time for it. Under orders to have fun, wouldn't want to disobey orders.

Well, a lot of times it depends on the amount of Free time I have, and if it involves any $$ and if I have any. I know overall that there are a lot of Fun things you can do and that is why there are days even on my off days I do not always spend a lot of time in here because I am busy doing other things as well. I do tend to play some of the word games online, and on Facebook and play some of the other games on facebook just to relax and take my mind off of Bills and other things of life.

During the summer, some of our towns have free concerts that you can walk or drive to. Many people live less than a mile away.

I think sports may be good. I have had the same problem when I felt depression and the doctor told me to do something that I enjoy doing a lot. She told me to get some exercise and play sports. I used to play basketball but just to shoot around and I liked it. Ever since the World Cup, it encourage me to play soccer and I liked it. Not just to kick the soccer ball, but to actually want to play against each other (with friends) and the depression went away on its own.

Beading takes lots of patience and good eye sight. It's been a long time since I've cross-stitched and read.

When I'm feeling better, I think wall climbing would be fun. Esp. since Drs. make me climb the walls anyway.

Thank you.
I've been doing fabric art which is my wild version of weaving.
I've also taken up word jumbles in the newspaper. Thanks and take care.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but I didn't get any notification. Not sure what's happening with that.

I love to spend time chatting to friends, as well as play games on the internet.I like to also email friends and catch up on seeing their photos and also sending them updates of photos. It is a lot easier to send the photos by email, as you do not have to worry about getting them printed out and putting them in the post.

My feet are like led because I'm recovering from a horrendous 7 hour operation. They will be fine soon. I used to do middle eastern dancing, line dancing, latin dance, you name it, I've had classes in it. When I feel better, I'll be able to move better.\
Thanks for joining Mylot. This is your first response. Hope you have many more.

The best thing for enjoyment is to have fun with friends. I spend more of my time in teasing my best friends or watching movies with them. Going for a long drive, and the best time spend is to play outdoor games like volleyball and cricket. I usually play volleyball in my office in break timings and some times listening to music.

Yes, those are all wonderful. Outdoor games where I live will soon be a thing of the past unless we can play them on snowshoes.
Love your name. Sounds really cool. Thank you for joining mylot. You seem very upbeat.

Sorry for the late reply!
Thanx man, this one is my favorite name and I use it in all websites(Gmail, Yahoo etc). Yeah, I do agree with you, playing on snowshoes feels really awesome. But to play, I need to go to USA or Switzerland. And this is one of my dream!
